If anyone wants to sell lmk. This has probably bean beaten to death but I wish Denny could open up more slots. Don't care if normal set or DX.

Yea it's strange that Iminime which is trying to move into more of a commercial Toy based company would make less of a figure that's very popular with the customers. But this was a collaborative effort by a few people involved so I can see how there might have been production limitations.

Even still I agree and don't think it was the most logical move business wise managing scarcity only is logical when your overhead is low and you can charge high enough prices to ensure that you make a significant profit off of minimal effort and expediatire. It's the entire principal behind a luxury item, you pay for the hand crafted element, because the item is hand crafted or sourced with rare materials quantity is limited and therefore price is significantly higher. That being said the only hand crafted element here aside from the packing is to paint jobs so I'm not sure why quantities were more heavily limited.

Not that I'm not so impressed with iminimes availability to paint a gazillion heads and have them all look so ****ing amazing, but its not really making a long sense that a more popular figure has less copies than Bateman. If it was a niche thing no one really wanted like lethal weapon I'd totally understand.

I think also there's a role that the DX sculpt played in this. The original dx sculpt was cast then modified to create the regular sculpt with hat making more DX casts an impossibility

The total edition was always fixed much before the DX sculpt started casting if you remember... only the proportion of DX to Normal was changed. Which was before the DX was even casted.

Remember its NOT an inhouse project - Bateman is. Now deduce what you can from that...

IMINIME wanted to keep this release somewhat "exclusive?" I'm just a little confused. This thing would've sold like hot cakes and made them a ton of money. Sure, $500 might sound more appealing than $300, but how does that stack up in the long run?

From my understanding, Iminime are doing custom clothing for this figure (I believe Marf was talking about how the vest was being tweaked once), and the gun is a new sculpt, while the shoes and holsters--though outsourced--are also custom made. Is any of this incorrect? I'm not sure how any of what, say, Rainman does is very different in that sense.
