I agree there should be a movement away from payment in full at time of ordering, given how long there is between the preorder and actual shipping of the figure.

What you are failing to understand is that the period between ordering and shipping is directly influenced by changes the buying public demands.

How am I "failing to understand" ? Currently we pay upfront with no real idea of when delivery will be as Iminime (to their credit) often do revisions and improvements. Sure HT & Sideshow have delays between preorder and delivery, but at most you pay a token deposit upfront.

You really can't make the comparison between hot toys and sideshow to Iminime. They are both very well established companies. Iminime is starting up serving a very limited cluster of collectors. Hot toys/SS can take partial deposits because if anything happens, they can afford to lose, however, Iminime's every single step has to fit in with their business model and initiative. Not only do they have to make a name for themselves, but they have to satisfy as many people as possible while earning a profit.

:lol:lol Omar, if you became a spokesperson at some capacity you should take a more neutral, PC approach. You won't get a good response if you mix personal opinions and collectors' passion with the spokesperson role; that's where Axe went wrong. It's even more important for you since you seem to be financially involved and he wasn't (although I didn't catch up on the whole Cinemascale thing yet so I'm a bit in the dark with the details). Just some friendly advice :peace :1-1:

I would continue to agree with this piece. It gets thrown out there about revises which result in delays...fine....I will commit to the project, take my $100-200 deposit in the meantime. IMO Iminime is putting up interest in a new figure every month which results in it becoming a pre-order which I gotta have because a) the product is cool and has great representation and b) chances are, no one else is making it....Thats how I got my matrix fix....my lecter fix! On another not could you explain the no emotion man....If I am wrong sory but did that figure go through scrutiny from the freaks....I don't remember....I saw paid FULL price and still I wait. Denny and Iminime seem to have much heart and credibility. So do I. I am a fan and will buy from them again and again! but this dialog still needs to continue until there can be a solution:pray:

Also, Iminime has more control over their delays than is being recognized right now. It's awesome that Denny is so open to feedback and I we all know that his company has took leaps and bounds in quality in a year’s time; feedback has improved just about every figure thus far but they really shouldn't rely on us for all of these suggestions. I know that a disconnect with the source material could sometimes be the culprit and everyone is human but at this point Iminime should be able to drop a reveal that leaves little room for suggestions on improvements.

They've come so far, I'm sure that Denny understands the mind of the collector better now. This is 1/6 collecting and everyone (or most) is a detail and accuracy nut. As much as we want a sculpt with great likeness, there's more to it than just that. We want accurate hair and eye color, accurate color/design/details of clothing and accessories... accurate, accurate, accurate :lol

I was shocked to see a pic of the Sheriff's pistol yesterday with a very dark handle as opposed to the accurate lighter colored one. Also the rifle was a completely different paint up than what was first showed. The proto was perfect; I'm not sure why it was changed but it is extremely inaccurate. When you consider how far Iminime has come and how much they improved, it's hard to believe that stuff like that is still happening.

We're all looking at the same reference material. As much as I appreciate the willingness to take on feedback; these inaccuracies can be discovered and corrected in house without our help. As soon as Iminime can get to that point, their delays will be minimized.

Please no one, especially Denny take offense to what I'm saying; it's not my intention. I'm just plainly speaking about the very evident facts of this situation.

mike. As i explained.

We are very small company and cant afford it wittout
full payment.

thais is the main reason.
I totally understand about layaway plan.
but I simply cant adford it at this stage.
Of couse, I have a dream and plan. one day
I wish I could do~~ but not right now.
I appreciate for all your suggestions.

please you dont really need to say overtime about it.

I know what some people here want to say.

It hurts that I am not capable of..

for wtd. it was a way of my expectation
for the time consuming.
some may not perfect. but some may be better.

if you are indicating only what was worse.
that would be our fault. but some points. we improved
and spent more time for it with our pride.

also making a deposit and taking care of each
for communicating is not easy if customers
are away and not responding

I know you are reliable but not all people
reply like you if i contact for something.

I have had experience as I have been in this
business since 2001.

so i know what collectors want. itms just
simply what i can do and what i cant really do
in my situation.

I am sorry what I tell here. but the negative
grows here for payment plan which I cant
afford.
I am a positive person and someday I wanna do
all works ready to go when po starts.

but spending more budget in development and
try not to make the price higher is really difficult for
small run compared to mass production.

iminime has a short history so far.
give us some support like other artists if yoi
are ere really a supporter.

Nobody start in the top Denny and you slowly are reaching it, step by step. take the time you want and need. In this buisness you r the most acessable guy i know. Keep this way.
Congrats

I dont think for costumer pay all in front ideal either, but i think it is very compreenssible, even hot toys, ss etc.. That are big companies charge a percentual in front ( they need this money) and take more than a year to deliver. Imagine small companies like iminime or solo artists..

We do have more plans for licensed figures in
the future and if all goes well.
I will be able to do pay plan po in the future.
our licensed figure projects are only
beginning and we dont get much profit for it yet

but as we are working hard enough and all profit
shares come to our team. then I will have some room for
layaway plan.

at this moment, I even cant put our labor cost in
our custom project price as it will make the price
too high. meaning we love making figures and when
collectors give us good feedbacks with our work
like wallstreet killer. we gain strenth.
to keep our custom works. i do make
more mass productioned license figures which
will give me to help run my team well.
small limited custom projects like 70-100pcs. sometimes
50pcs. is actually costing a lot as i have to
take care of more than 20 staff. just simply
you can count.
I have a vision in the future.
I am also bringing many custom projects
in this field some projects are never done in this
custom field. I am proud of it that we can make
things for collectors that have been waiting for.
and no other major companies ever do as they have
to think the total capacity of sales always.

I took wizard of oz. I think this can make collectors
happy. I see it. did i think about how many
pieces would sold? yes honestly I thought about it
and it will not a big number.
but why I do? Because Our team has the passion
in making custom figures.

I try to communicate as much as possible

but there are also negative area.
sometimes. I get a lot of suggestions and personal
favor which I cant really handle.

but I am a man try to listen and if possible i accept.

I have many custom projects and I set up
things for 5 months delivery at this time.
i have to do follow my plan for another 12 months
if I am not wrong.
but after a year, if Everything goes not worse,
I will be able to take what collectors want.
Just like ready to go or very short period of shipping.

but this is only a plan that i want to achieve which I cant
make a promise at this moment.

sometimes project like wdt. takes
so much time than I expected.
molding took a lot of time which I cant really
controled. the shoes and belt arrived this week.
delayed a lot. I guess molding took few months.

airbrushing only arrows took almost 10 days
for 1 person. 14 hours work straight

the rifle. i talked with my painters who knows
very well about it and also checked color again

we think the color is ok although it's different
from the prototype color. we checked many
existing that rifle colors.

what we added more is wethering on outfit
every single outfit has didferent weathering.
including me and all sculptors did some outfit too with
their feeling.

boots are molded and it came out nicely.
the front part of the crossbow was something that
we were not able to make well.
managed to make look like it(not perfect)
with iron wire by hands it was only thing that
I dont really like.

many things are better than prototype.
even in tailoring.

all I want to say is we try to make things better
and better in our capacity.
it may not satisfy all perfectly

denny

regardless of edition size.

please check the price point.
not many artists can set the price that iminime do

please dont think the edition size of 30 or 40 more
can make the price different.
because it cant. but it can be value more if you
are seriously collecting only low numbered limited
but not many artists can run 70 or more for
custom because it will cost more.
teaching the skill to people is not easy
one artist cannot handle big sized of edition
with full figures
if they do. they need a big team and the cost
will not lower.
making hundreds can make it lower for sure.

we make unbeatible custom figures in this price with our quality

but my concern is growing up somehow
businessman should seek for profit for company
but so far the cost is much
how i can manage the team? we started licensed
figures and 1500-2000 pcs sales share
support me to run my team eventually
I spent all my profit to take care of my artists
I really dont need to explain every details here
and i might regret what I said here

but i am trying to explain how I run this.

I know this situation.
if I more up and write things and do accept
as much as suggestions. , it has god points
but somethimes. it can go too much.
delaying production.

if you are very serious collector, you should
check our resin base color.
every characters. we produce different colored resin
every time difference.
some artists may produce one or two colors
easily. but we spent many days for testing
for better effect.
chanings on sculpt two or three times with
painting work take at least 6-8 weeks more

I hope there are some people truly understand
what we are trying to do. not just words

Thanks for your thoughts and explanation Denny, that is very generous and kind of you. Like I said before, I appreciate your efforts. You and Iminime will always have my full support.

Denny, these posts from you are great. If Bill and Howard came on here and faced our criticisms, they probably would not be able to handle it, but you sir not only took on the criticism but put in time to reply us, you're awesome :)

I am trying not to reply these days.
it is sometimes very stressful to read

If you ever come to visit korea. i will show you around
how we work.
then you understand.

Your doing a great job Denny, and your team, including Wake.

I am a supporter because it's easy to see what you are doing and where you are going.

Keep up the outstanding work.

Thanks to you and every other supporter!! I became involved in this as a purely a fan. But almost immediately I could tell that Denny was not only serious about his work, but passionate. It wasn't hard for me to throw my full support into helping him, even then. My first Iminime figures were the se7en duo, and its been a looong year since then. With a ton of improvement! BUT Denny, His team and I all realize the wealth of improvement yet to be realized. Iminime will get there!

Im not only speaking for Denny, because I too have run businesses, but keeping a payroll going is not the easiest thing in the world. Those people who rely on you for work and their income are important to you as a leader. You worry about them.
