Didn't you say you had to pay bills Snake? If so, I would assume that is your reason. But even if you did sell for some other reason, who cares? Once you buy, it is yours to do with as you please.

My stating that collectors either hoard or treat collectibles like some disposable razor is obviously a simplification of reality, and doesn't paint anyone in a particularly positive light :lol

Ah gotcha. Thanks.

Sorry just feel a little vindicated right now.

I honestly wasn't trying to call anyone specifically out. Just shooting the **** on a slow work day, when I have to wait 10 minutes for one of my statistical queries to process.

I don't see the problem with selling things. I have a problem with those dudes who pay soccer moms to stand in lines in HK to flip dozens of figures and milk collectors, but, if you're selling out of necessity, more power to you. Hell, I sold my DX 08 Joker and DX 09 Batman to fund this figure.

At the end of the day, this hobby is about enjoyment. The way I see it, all Snake Eater is doing is sharing the love. Now two people have been able to enjoy the figure instead of just one.

Gee, that makes me feel great, all we are is a boredom pacifier to you. Quick I can hear another query filtering through.

Anyway isn't The Cowboy fig just like one of the best pieces of sculpting on a 1.6 figure, period!

No. Never. . .how dare you?

Yeah, great figure no doubt. Gonna blow the doors off some Detolfs when all three of those bad boys are on the same shelf.

I'm like Wake, I find it really hard to get rid of any of my figures. I must of bought about 100 action figs in the last 5 years and maybe sold about 5 or 6.
I got loads just in boxes, that I've hardly even touched but something prevents me from getting rid of them. I guess I am a bit of a hoarder.

Wouldnt happen to have a HT Ezio? :wink1:

Some people enjoy the thrill of buying the milk and looking at it and feeling the cold container in their hands... then in a few days sell it again... and usually at a profit.

I personally like to savor my milk.... ok... um.... this analogy just got weird.

:lol Wake, good stuff. I can totally understand that. It's just some people seem to buy and sell habitually, and always with the excuse of "needing the money". I honestly don't understand why those people are in this pricey of a hobby. But to each his own. :duff

:lecture :D

So impulsively buying and selling with no attachment to anything vs. hoarding--which is the worse vice? Sounds like a complex philosophical question that only one of the board's great thinkers like Bodie or NamMagazine can address.

:lecture :lol:lol

I have a problem ditching things because I don't usually buy things I don't really like in the first place. But I have well over 100 1/6 figures so I guess I just like a lot if stuff. The only time I sell something is if a better looking version of it comes out. Most of the time I love it when that happens. Like I sold the rainman blondie head and clothing set for that the new iminime cost so ultimately I got a better full figure with two heads for less money.

I sold my mark 1 and bought a mark 1.5 plus two additional hot toys figures for what I got for it.

I sold dx01 joker but kept the cop and got 275for it which completely payed for joker dx02.

I care only about the best looking version I the character and that's it.

All I was trying to say was if someone needs to sell recently acquired figures to cover their bills... maybe they should re think buying those figures in the first place?

Mr E said it best. :lol

But if they can sell a recently aquired figure for twice what they paid for it, they can then cover twice as many bills.

In case of hot toys etc... You can always cancel it prior to shipping. In case of custom since we pay upfront, he has the right to change his mind for no reason or justification!

Also, he may have stretched back then and things always change for people... Jobs, some medical bills, some emergency trips, baby on its way, wedding decisions, or plain simple some other figure of interest crops up.

A lot changes in a day leave alone weeks and even months. In fact as fellow collectors we should empathize rather than jump on him :( ...
