WOW Wake just sold his Cowboy DX for 3200$ USD

Holy ****

Wow..! Can't believe this thing has demanded that kind of price already! I'm feeling even more lucky now to have been able to score one myself. Here's a quick vid I made of my Blondie DX so far. I still plan to tweak them with accessories and other upgrades over time.

Congrats to Wake and the new owner!

Awesome video, Marlo! I've only been waiting since October.:impatient::lol Seriously, though, I was just thinking "maybe I should give the YouTube thing a shot and take a video of the DX sculpt, because, so far, I haven't really seen any photos that do it justice, and I haven't seen any videos of it, yet," and, sure enough, there ya go! I love your videos and it was a pleasant surprise to see you take on The Cowboy.

I think that, at the end of the day, the hatted sculpt is fantastic, and I do believe that it's the definitive version of the character. However, with that being said, between the cigar and the hat, the attention is devoted less to the likeness and more to the overall look and feel for the character. I think what the DX sculpt equates to, for me, and, since you work on the books, you'll probably get the reference, is a virgin art cover. The bells and whistles and the "titles" and the credits give you a better idea of what the book's about, but, when you strip that away, you really can better appreciate just how damn good the art is.

The hatted sculpt is inherently Blondie, but that DX sculpt gives you a better idea of how much Trevor nailed Eastwood's likeness when it's not being overshadowed (literally) by the hat and the cigar.

Sorry for the delay in getting around to doing a video on this amazing figure. I was away in Europe with the wife for 3 weeks and missed out on the arrival of the package. As much as I was having away, I really couldn't wait to get back home to see what was waiting for me! Unfortunately as soon as I got back, I had to get back to work the next day and also started another new job leaving me with little to no free time at all up until now. Anyways, just happy to get around to doing a vid and by all means, feel free to get some vids of your collection on YouTube too! :wink1:

Anyways, I couldn't have said it any better than what you have said. It's so awesome having two versions of Blondie with this DX set. The iconic cowboy complete with hat, cig, and poncho and also a stripped down clean version that better shows off the amazing likeness captured by Trevor.

Great video Marlo

Thank you thank you..! Glad you enjoyed what I had to share in the vid. :)

Great paintup! I never noticed until these pics, that the left eye is quite a bit lower than the right? Maybe its just from the straight on angle?

Wow, that's phenomenal! I guess that's the one Shortround is trying to sell?

No, this is Dane's. I think it may be to replace an Iminime one he is selling. Not sure.

Oh, wow, I just noticed that. I think it may be an optical illusion created by the hairline, the brow position, and the forehead wrinkles though, but you're right it does look like that. If you hold a straight edge up to the pic, it's barely noticeable. In hand at actual 1/6 scale it's not noticeable at all.
