Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

So even the regular release is going to be hard to snag on this one?

Any idea on PO date?

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

20 instead of 15 for VIPs seems more fair to me, considering folks did pay for the privilege of, in part, getting early access. Not sure what status of the retailers is here. If you want to reward them for helping you sell your stuff, then could you maybe increase the edition size by 5 or so and divvy those out to them (so, 20 for VIPs, 15 for regular boardies, and 5 more for retailers)? I suspect that more than 35 boardies here are gonna want that DX, putting aside collectors in Asia and elsewhere, and like Pop is suggesting, I think it would be a nice gesture to give regular customers more opportunities.

I just want the regular set, I hope that isn't going to be rough to get.

I too strongly agree that 20 is the reasonable number for VIPs.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

Just out of curiosity, has Iminime ever had a Rainman-like sellout (IE complete sellout of a figure within a couple of hours)? I know that this figure doesn't really have a parallel and it is hard to peg how quickly it will be gone, but I'm hoping to just get a normal release and would be crushed if I was left out on this one.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

I think the Seven guys sold out in a day, and it seems like Ra's sold out quickly, but neither of those were purchased through his website.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

Denny should just open the PO for the DX for like 2 weeks and keep the regular edition open for a while and get as many orders as he can to bring in more revenue.

As it can be pretty costly to run a company like his with a number of sculptors, painters and tailors to hire, and from the C+D of the his other figures, he can certainly use the profit from the sales of this figure.

I'm pretty sure its a win-win solution for both Denny and the buyers.

If there are 35 in total maybe a fair split would be 20 for VIPs and 15 for everyone else. If the Freaks don't buy all 35 by the end of 7-10 days, then whatever’s left can go to your wholesale accounts

:exactly:
I agree. 20 for VIPS.

Different strokes for different folks.

I would actually really dig this. I get that people want exclusivity, but this is one hell of a figure, and I hate knowing that some people are bound to miss out (I just hope that I'm not one of them). It'd also be one step closer in the direction of an official company, rather than customs.

I'd be all for this approach. There are so many characters where this would be a fine edition size but I think for Blondie (big fanbase and huge crossover appeal -- not to mention influence on other character designs to this day), a larger edition or a couple runs would be ideal.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

here is what we do.

Mainly we do custom works as a team. it's just like other artists
although they are alone, they let make other tailors to make clothes. right? sometimes some accessories,
the main difference is iminime is a company organized with sculptors, painters and tailors. we do works in office.
this project has more artists joined project.
Trevor as sculptor, Chad for boots, gun for oliver.
as we cant maintain our team with custom work profit, we do also making and doing mass production for few companies with mostly licensed figure. we get proper payment for sculpt and consulting.
I and my painter go to factory checking quality from this year.

sometimes we also do our licensed figures too. starting this year.

so whatever you call us is no problem ~~ you will see more works with famous celebrity figure as licensed in this year.

We will be doing Evil dead for ash, and about 6-7 characters more from old movies which I chose will be happening this year.

thanks guys

denny

So if I understand correctly, you can't make a profit from this figure even if you were to increase the edition size to 2-300?

Huh... I figured the prices paid for custom figures were high enough to bring in a return. I didn't think that was mostly marketing to get onto the mass produced licences bandwagon. Makes sense tho.

Shame, I think Blondie would sell a thousand (for a lower price than $600 of course :)).

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

Id say you guys should really chill... 70 or so is not a joke number... its quite large for custom figures, and Im sure most of those who want it will snag one, regular atleast if not the DX... plus all of you will be informed much ahead and not all VIPs are interested in the release... ofcourse there is a chance that some guys will buy it simply to flip it for a profit to someone who missed out and is desperate, however as long as you guys keep an eye out for the second post and Denny's facebook you guys will get the idea where to place the order once regular preorders open... I was behind both of Iminime's two fastest sellers till now (Demon and Se7en duo) so let me assure you its not AS crazy as you guys are expecting...

Cool, thanks for the info, ax. Will keep my eyes peeled and see if I can't snag a DX (or reg, failing that).

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

So if this is an open edition and not limited, you are not gonna buy it?

That is not what the phrase means. Everyone has his/her own way of conducting business and doing things in general. Denny is no different, he has his own preference when it comes to how he chooses to manage iminime's releases. Finally, to answer your question, I am interested in DX Cowboy regardless of its edition, limited or open.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy ~ SCULPTS REVEALED ~

I think a higher edition size for this release (regular version anyway) would make some sense, because "rarity" is a function of both supply and demand. 125 or so of these would be the equivalent of 75 Lectors in the sense of finding buyers IMO because of the relative popularity of the character. But if Denny isn't making huge profits on these, then maybe it isn't beneficial to him to up the edition size.

Increasing Edition size is possible only till a limit at the scale of staff strength they have, 70 is a huge size itself if you think about it... pushing that to 125 is really something. Plus honestly think about it selling 70 or so is a real goo possibility... but 125? does it really guarantee a sell out. We all know custom prices are still not something majority of the collectors agree with. Even now I see frequent posts on facebook complaining on how much custom prices are, and there is a lot of support for it. The majority of the collecting fraternity judge everything on prices set for Mass produced figures...
