I don't reckon Rainman has the edition size to allow distributers to sell percentages of his product. But I wouldn't think DX figures would fall into any stock Denny would give to a European distributor or whatever (I assume you're referencing the Ripley being sold by someone in Italy).

But really, your argument just makes the case more strongly that Rainman should limit his supply. The way you are describing it Iminime's product doesn't sound very special, being something pumped out by a "toy company."

And I still don't know how $500 is competitive, unless you are comparing them to other custom artists, including Rainman, where you can buy head/outfit sets for that price. These are high end customs in my book.

So what your saying is that Iminime and Rainman are essentially the same? That they should operate their business the same way. And you would like that changes be made to Rainmans VIP even though what you suggested has nothing to do with the task at hand with this release other than to derail the point that a 1 per person policy would be the fairest compromise for all of Denny's customers? Maybe I should just buy the damn VIP and call it a day!

No, though I do think both produce high quality customs. I am just suggesting that any limits for ordering from Iminime should logically extend to Rainman. If you think Denny is selling DX's en masse to other distributors then I could see your point, but I doubt very strongly that that would happen. At most, a handful of collectors may order two, which is probably what happens with Rainman. In which case, I don't see the difference.

You're both my brothers and you both make good points but I just want to point out where both of you are off.

@ SAM: I believe that after the whole Dude cluster f__k Rainman said that the new policy was going to be 1 per customer. I don't know if that has changed but I never heard of anyone buying multiplies from him. Maybe a full set and an H&C (and possibly an extra sculpt too) but I don't think that he sells multiple figures to a single buyer.

I don't think Turbo is talking about Space Trucker. There was a UK retailer that got some stock of the Bateman DX.

@ JP: I think you off on your idea about Iminime. At the end of the day there aren't as many differences as you think between them and Rainman. The differences are the size of the team and the experience/skill level. But when you add up Rainman's full run of an offering, it's really not too far behind what Iminime is doing.

Iminime is doing an average of 70 figure runs. They have done much smaller ES's for the more niche characters like Fox and they have gone up to 100 on others. Rainman generally does 30-35 full figs, 20 H&C and 10 clothes sets. Then add the other 20(+/-) painted heads and 10-20(+/-) unpainted. Essentially that’s enough to build 60-65 figures of head to toe RM work. He's right in the ballpark with Iminime's run.

I still hold on to the belief that top quality 1/6 figures aren't exactly toys but if you want to call the mass producers toy companies that's fine. But you definitely can't lump Iminime in there; not at this point anyway. That's definitely the direction Denny wants to bring the co. but at this point they follow a procedure no different than the rest of the custom artists on the board including Rainman; everything is sculpted, hand painted, custom tailored, etc. no differently than how all the other artist here do it.

I just read this~~

1 figure per a person is confirmed for this project.
because it's very limited.
I have few retailers and they want to introduce our work to their country. the quantity is very small and all numbered certificate which means their order is in the edition size.
our size is around 70. sometimes 50. sometimes a bit more.

Cowboy DX set will be competive when I open it to VIP members first
as I have around 60 vips and I will only open some quantity in case of dx set.

here is what we do.

Mainly we do custom works as a team. it's just like other artists
although they are alone, they let make other tailors to make clothes. right? sometimes some accessories,
the main difference is iminime is a company organized with sculptors, painters and tailors. we do works in office.
this project has more artists joined project.
Trevor as sculptor, Chad for boots, gun for oliver.
as we cant maintain our team with custom work profit, we do also making and doing mass production for few companies with mostly licensed figure. we get proper payment for sculpt and consulting.
I and my painter go to factory checking quality from this year.

sometimes we also do our licensed figures too. starting this year.

so whatever you call us is no problem ~~ you will see more works with famous celebrity figure as licensed in this year.

We will be doing Evil dead for ash, and about 6-7 characters more from old movies which I chose will be happening this year.

And the argument was really of the "academic" variety, and probably wasn't worth having Turbo and I both agreed that it made sense to limit the DX, which Denny was doing as I figured he would.

You create an account at IMINIME.net, and then you purchase the membership like you would a figure. I believe it's in the bottom right hand corner, if there are any available (which I think there are, since, if I'm not mistaken, there are 100 spots, and there's only 60 taken according to Denny's last post).

Personally Denny I think that you should keep the retailers away from the DX until the end. There are a lot of people worried that they won't have a chance of getting one and there is a very good chance that all 35 can quickly and easily sell out here. I understand that bringing money in as fast as possible is important to keep the gears turning in a business. Maybe you should give the Freaks 7-10 days and if there are any DXs left after that then give them to a retailer.

i.e. If there are 35 in total maybe a fair split would be 20 for VIPs and 15 for everyone else. If the Freaks don't buy all 35 by the end of 7-10 days, then whatever’s left can go to your wholesale accounts

Now that you say it like that, you're right. I do believe that some members here and there have grabbed an extra one to help out a friend. I was thinking more along the lines of people snatching 2 for themselves. Maybe stuff has changed because I know for sure RM said he would only do the 1 per person thing after the way the Dude sale went down. But who knows what's going on now considering the way Vince was handled
