Hi guys

Do you need to 1st create a profile and log in or do you just go to the " figure set" link tomorrow and buy and pay for the Cowboy ?

I know RM requires you to I think be a member before you can even buy . I don't think this is the case for Denny's site

You do not need to create a profile to purchase. However, you will not be able to purchase tomorrow if you are not a VIP member. General public release should start sometime next week after VIP reservation closes. Allow me to inform you about the VIP membership, should you decide to join. It is available for purchase at $300 for 1 year and there may be a couple of spots left, not sure. Good luck.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there are roughly 70 VIP members and only 85 sets are produced in total. I believe Denny also said that a few sets will go to retailers. I'd say this is a competition.

I just went to pay for the VIP membership and it says "Sold Out".

In 110% of these cases, it means the item/subscription is currently sold out. On a serious note, someone probably beat you to it not long ago. You have my sympathy.

Sold out? That's odd. He did say that he was offering 100 spots; they either all sold out recently or it's a mistake

Denny updated on his Facebook that the membership is reduced to 70 instead of 100 so there were only 3 slots left.
Guess 3 people signed up after reading the Facebook post.

Regarding the VIP, folks had an opportunity since September or so, and we all knew this release was coming. Why the complaints about what he did a day prior to pre-order?

Hmmm... I have to agree that it is a weird time to decide to scale back on 30 open spots. True these were available for around 6 months but Iminime's popularity is just starting to grow because of their more current releases. A bunch of us who already owned a few Iminime pieces by the time they offered the membership jumped in from the beginning because we were already supporters and we knew that it was going to benifit us in the long run. But I'm sure that some people needed more convincing or were waiting for characters that they were interested in; plus there are a lot of new Freaks that are just learning about Iminime now and had they been on the board a year ago, they'd probably have memberships now.

Unless there are bigger reasons why Denny would want to close the list, I don't see why he wouldn't open up at least 10-15 spots if he didn't want to do all 30. I'm sure that there are at least another 5-10 guys right now ready to join

I'm guessing its got a lot to do with the subject of this very thread.
There aren't going to be enough DXs to go around and some people are going to be very annoyed if they've paid for a VIP membership and still can't get the exclusive version.

Maybe they figure they already have enough members that are going to be racing to get this and want to limit the rage emails?

For myself, I wasn't aware of the company earlier and only recently was made aware of the VIP membership. Once aware, I needed to sell something to accommodate the extra $300.

Im guessing by the time its up, the demand and complaints of people not getting the DX would be so high that they will increase the DX just like what they did with Ra's.

I side with the artist/business person behind the release pretty much 100% of the time, but really? So right when they're releasing a super-iconic figure and flogging the fact that getting the $300.00 VIP membership (which I actually believe to be a great deal if you're a collector/customizer that could make good use of the 3 free headsculpts or are OK with the hassle of selling them off, plus was it a 10 - 15% discount on future orders) would give one a better chance (as opposed to guaranteeing a spot) of getting a DX/regular figure, they cut the slots from 100 to 70? Sorry, there's no way to spin that as being customer friendly. They have a right to do whatever they see fit, of course... just it's a bit jarring when two days ago the site said limited to 100 spots and today they just arbitrarily cut it to 70.

Agreed. The VIP membership loses its value considerably if iminime cannot reasonably accommodate most VIPs with limited releases. Moving forward, I hope future iminime releases will produce enough sets to satisfy most, if not all, VIPs.

No question that anyone willing to pay the $300.00 premium -- even with the extra goodies -- should be guaranteed a spot. That is basically the sole reason that convinced me that the premium wasn't worth the risk of paying and then not getting a DX. Anyone that's paid and misses out will feel like a chump.
