Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

and i would have to agree with you on that one...i haven't...thought he was strictly sculpting....link?

Well here is a piece he sketched/painted for Sideshow, to acompany his phenomenal Obi Mythos sculpture. https://browse.deviantart.com/?q=trevor+grove#/d4y0ehw He's done other licensed paintings as well. The one 1/6 sculpt I've seen him paint was not made public as far as I know, so I can't share that, but it was outstanding. :exactly:

Hands down one of the best at his craft that I've seen. His work is truly amazing.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

Glad to see the movers and shakers have got on board with my idea of finally bringing this figure out. I couldn't have done it without Marf, Shortround and Axe, so these guys deserve some credit.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

Just how many people where involved with getting this project off the ground?

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

So Denny is considering upping the DX edition size. What do you guys feel is a number that balances availability and exclusivity? Because I know there are arguments for both.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

IMHO, this ruins the hobby for me.

What does? Having to outlay yet another wad of cash for an awesome figure, or having pretty much direct input into how the release is made available?

I don't think I'll have the coin to throw at a DX, so unless the DX is full of must-have stuff, or the price difference is negligible, it'll be the standard for me. I think 20 DX's sounds plenty in terms of those who want them being able to get them, but still ensuring their exclusivity over time.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

Ultimately, if the response to upping the edition size on the DX is mostly negative, then it won't happen. This is just an inquiry to see if those with opposing view points on the issue can reach a happy medium, as Denny does not want to do open-ended orders for the DX.

Damn I thought this was gunna be a john wayne custom:(

"Get off your horse and drink your milk"
But eastwood will do:)

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

I really liked Turbo's idea about 35 and 35.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

One thing to mention, if you look back through the threads with almost every Rainman fullset, there have been those worried, generally first timers, about being able to get one that have called for increasing the edition size but when it comes time to order the fears were unfounded and just about everyone who was prepared to buy one has been able to do so, with some fullsets lingering awhile after the initial ordering. That said, if Denny feels the need to increase ed size, 25 dxs seems good.

I don't think reducing the number of reg sets to increase the dx sets is the way to go.

Wayne would have been incredible! Would have prefered that to Blondie (Since there's already more than 1 decent Blondie custom currently out there). No one has even attempted a Wayne at this level to my knowledge.

:goodpost::exactly::lecture My guess is a DX ES of 50 would see a lot of sets unsold, especially if the price exceeds $500.

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

I don't personally have strong feelings about edition size, though I think it would be concerning to some collectors like entropy (who care about rarity) if the DX size was equal to, or even really close to the regular edition size. And that is something to consider, as that mentality really helps to drive the success of guys like Rainman. Like I posted before I do think VIPs should have first dibs however, because that's what was agreed to when folks signed on. Not sure why the rules would need to change for this release (which frankly, is the first figure they have done that could warrant being reserved prior to pre-order).

Re: [iminime] / Trevor Grove - *Secret Project* The Cowboy

i would agree with Lejuan on this....just keep it at the numbers its at and let it be a war when it comes....:)...can't sacrifice yourself for the sake of others...if there is enough interest....the people will buy what is scheduled to be put out....if Denny is trying to gauge for more...i would play it safe and just go with what he has already in the works....increasing the size might leave a sour taste if it does not sell out...which i'm hoping it does so that we can have more of these collaborations in the future...:)

To an extent, that's a relief, but, at the same time, what kind of stuff are are you referring to? I only ask because it seems like there are certain characters who are a bit more of a niche than others. Personally, I don't care what the edition size, so long as those who really want one get one.

It will sell out....i'm hoping it will so that maybe down the road we can get a Unforgiven by Trevor....Clint with Morgan...or Gene Hackman
