Re: 13" Batman Figure From D.C. Direct

Soon you will understand why people dont use medicoms to pose in front of photoshop. It just doesnt work because they dont look like the characters on film. So keep throwing away that $150 and enjoy! :lol :lol :lol

Are you still here?

There are tons of people who pose Medicom's and use photoshop. Then again you probably only go to US forums which is why you don't see them.

I have no problem spending 150. I find it laughable that you do.

Re: 13" Batman Figure From D.C. Direct

So why all the posturing on both sides... who cares? Obviously you guys like the figures you like and thats that. More and more these threads are turning into pathetic collectors trying to prove whose more knowledgeable!

Wow you saw ROTJ when you were 6, great I saw it as a drive-in double feature with the Wrath of Khan when I was 5. Does that mean I have more cred!?! Hopefully not...

Both figures are great, I own them and like them. I think if you break it down they really come out about even (Especially since I was able to get my Medicom Luke for $85)... and after that its just your preference.

Drive-ins were great as a kid. I saw Close Encounters at a drive-in, and it scared me to death! I think it was because we were outside in a big field under the stars. Perfect conditions!

What was the question?

One time while waiting for a parade when iIwas a kid I made the mountain from Close Encounters while playing in the Dirt :lol Don't even remember seeing the movie when I was a kid, but that stuck with me

One of the weird things that stuck with me to this day is the "Square Song" that was playing on Barry's record player. My wife has caught me humming it a few times. :lol

Batman Batman Batman Batman Batman Batman Batman ect.

Re: 13" Batman Figure From D.C. Direct

I always enjoy it when toy collectors try and get all tough on a message board. I guess "being a kid at heart" isn't just a sense of whimsy.

Back on topic, I'm enjoy the DCD 13" line so far. Yeah the cut joints are dumb (why do sculptors who think articulation ruins sculpt always make cuts against muscle? it makes no sense, that's the single ugliest and most disruptive poa there is). But the figures are just a hell of a lot of fun in person. I only wish they had better hands.

You know, unfortunately, that is a very true statement... and not just for people who try to get tough. It think it also goes for people who obsess over poor paint apps and the price of figures. Doesn't all of that just take the fun out of collecting for some people? I guess that's why I try not to let that kind of thing bother me.

Sorry to go off topic again.

Notice the shot with luke hes shadowed out and blurred in motion hehe....

Just to be clear I did not start this thread with such a whiny title... Medicom Luke is a big boy and I think he can defend himself.

I cant believe Dave sending the happy Krusaders posts in the sandbox while there is a real war of insults here.Collectors insulting other collectors.your a bunch of geeks.....:lol :lol :lol

Seriously,I think the Medicom Fan-boys,who all came to this forum at the same time should realise this is a Sideshow message boards. In fact,a Sideshow freaks board. So while we enjoy, talking about other figures and company, people here live and breathe Sideshow.....So I think its rather stupid to come here and try to prove that this figure or that figure is better than Sideshow's.Youre on the wrong board for that.

HEAR HEAR! Dang right! I don't even need to say anything, you summed it up!
3 Chewies fo you GB :chew :chew :chew

I made this a seperate thread because it's a relevant on-topic discussion. And there are arguments to be made that some medicoms are better than some Sideshow figures - generalizations don't work either way.

Sorry but the 12" inch universe doesn't begin or end with Sideshow. Sideshow isn't even ranked that highly among diehard 1/6 collectors (which if Sideshow 12" is your main thing then you're most definitely not diehard. There are TONS of independent small circle companies and artist that do 12". Just one independent 12 inch can costs as much as 20 Sideshow dolls if not more). Also I find it hilarious that the Medicom Luke needs to be "defended" when the Medicom Luke and Sideshow Luke got 3 1/2 stars from Michael Crawford.

You just need to give up, Medicom Nutswingers just wont end.

It's like someone trying their hardest to justify why their $85 Abercrombie and Fitch are better than $30 Levis. Same material, do the same job, just one is ripping you off.

I love your elitist attitude, its really refreshing on the boards :D And a clarifier (now that you use Michaels reviews to support your argument) the Medi was actually a guest reviewer.
