Aragorn? I consider him among the defining characters of the narrative.

Definitely! Archetypally it reminds me of the grail myth with the idea that “the king and the land are one.” Aragorn isn’t wounded physically but politically Gondor doesn’t recognize him, and he’s the best person of true character that the kingdom needs to heal and become whole again.

I think Gandalf arguably gets the nod as most defining in that he was sent by Eru Iluvatar to subtly thwart Sauron from succeeding with his plan to dominate Middle Earth. Next most defining is arguably the trio of ring bearers who travel directly into the heart of darkness, Frodo, Sam, and Gollum/Smeagol.

I’m actually going to use a cheap black oval crotchgrabber stand anyway, given my display space.

I’m kind of glad I don’t have to worry about it. I saw the video of Justin reviewing the figures at Queen Studios when one of the figures on display fell over simply due to gravity overcoming the magnetism and joint strength!

Yep. I am already wondering if any stand can be drilled and fitted with a crotch grabber or other.

Tho a lot of times - since I use bookshelves with glass doors - I don't use a stand at all. Figs can be braced with "scenic bits" like old tree pieces (cleaned and dried), rocks, tiles, or whatever. Or I have a fig or two sitting and chilling

I liked Thranduil's fallen column base but pretty sure I cheated with some putty to get him in a *heroic stance*.

Nah- InArt made it clear with Gandalf’s trouser embroidery that, if a detail isn’t shown on screen, they don’t need to acknowledge it.

You can see blu tac on The Batman’s feet so the working theory is that those prototypes didn’t have magnets installed. Same goes for the head, given the way it flew straight off.

That’s a reasonable speculation, wouldn’t surprise me at all if true. Although a couple months ago I also saw a photo someone posted of an InArt Joker that fell. The person attributed it to the magnets not getting the job done. IIRC he said the pose wasn’t unusual or particularly dynamic or anything. But anyway, I mean, obviously here’s hoping that the magnet system works great, though!

I don’t know what it is called but In the picture I quoted it looks like the strip of skin between the nostrils looks pretty far off center. Like i said, could be bad angle.

Yeah I ranted about it in the Batman thread. ******* ridiculous. Not trusting it to hold Aragorn. Might use some Star Wars base instead. Some Endor themed thing. But it's a shame because the base is nice. It just doesn't achieve its primary function.

Yeah, it could be bad angle... weird, but it is not so evident imo.

InArt is openly admitting the lightning and angles were bad for the photos on their Instagram, so I think the photos aren't doing either version any favors.
