I got invoiced this morning for my 2nd Premium Aragorn that I ordered this past January when Kit opened up briefly for the last time. I would think the majority of Aragorn’s should be released at this point.

I ordered this one on January 9, 2024. Invoice 1323**

If anyone is thinking about letting go of their PO I'll give that Aragorn a permanent home! I wanted 2 but I couldn't afford them back when the POs went live.

I watched Fellowship yesterday, to try and get some inspiration about which look I wanted to go for. But it only made things worse, there are too many interesting looks.

But at least I got to watch a cool movie. :lol

Ultimately, I will probably go for the Two Towers look, with the bracers and the elven cloak. He'll have to stand next to a Fellowship Gandalf and be anachronistic, but alas, that's the price we pay.

I did realize that his hair isn't quite as long and greasy as InArt made it. And it is frustrating that the factory paint made his beard so generic. That's one of the key points that make Viggo's face unique. His facial hair doesn't quite cover the front of his chin, so the cleft is quite noticeable. Here, they just painted right over it.

I also remembered that I downloaded some fan-made subtitles for the 'foreign language' parts of the film, Elven dialog and the like. So I muxed those into the files I have, and now I have to watch the movie AGAIN to check those out. Ah, what a life 😉

I still haven't put the figure together yet, but I did look through all the accessories to make sure they're all intact and accounted for, so I'm making baby steps. It's a long wait for Legolas, I have to pace myself.

Sold my rooted version finally...and kept my preferred version.

I love the sculpted version...perfect out of the box. No fauxing outfits or hair, no worry about my Aragorn balding, no combing hair... No worries about hair strains being pulled out....

I really cannot see me getting another InArt figure due to their increase prices and suspect quality...maybe only Chris Reeves.

But Aragorn was wonderfully done.

Congrats....

InArt does use some incredible glue, and mohair is a tough fiber...but on the other hand, as one who had to spend hours on the hair and is still waiting on a Ranger cloak - as well as picking up some ASMUS hands as these hands are are so stiff (haven't worked with those yet) -

Yeah, I really don't want to deal with InArt again. I get it for folks that love their figs. I think. Me, think InArt is a pain in the $#$. Like one of those restaurants where the food is pricey and your plate is all decorated, but the portions are small and the food isn't all that.

Although - it IS a real nice sculpt. :monkey3 Dunno in hindsight if I would have been just as happy/happier with the sculpted. Like, you can't TELL that his hair is mohair by just looking at it. I'll get Thorin if they make him.

I will say I truly think the paint apps on the sculpted are different than the rooted. Having both in hand, they do -look- different, but it's the same sculpt. But it goes deeper than the hair frame.

Never entertained the idea of the rooted version. I know that any imperfections right out of the box would bother me and take away from my unboxing experience after spending $400+ Canadian. I'm taking my time unboxing my sculpted Aragon over a few days. I have to get my money's worth handling him because after I find the pose I doubt I will touch him again! I also agree that if $750 Canadian (Legolas) is the going price for Inart, I don't see myself preordering more.

Who’s Chris Reeves?

But yeah rooted isn’t for everyone, and that’s fine. I think the sculpted offerings are just as great, and in some ways better. I’m second guessing getting rooted Paul since i bet the hairstyle won’t match the unique hair style. Would’ve definitely opted to get sculpted Harry if it came with the diorama, but ah well. That being said, for the few masters at futzing rooted hair, rooted hair will always be the best aesthetic. IMO.

I have the rooted and love it, but I still have a sculpted on order, and I am really looking forward to seeing it in hand.

I know, when I typed i swore I left the "s" off the name.

Then when I saw it decided IDK...it's the internet.

Sometimes the hair rooted looks great. Those Aragorn pics when people style the hair are fantastic...but I am a guy. I just can't style hair or want to 3 time a year...

But I just can't. I tell people when I do customs, I kind of want to get it accurate, but settle for close enough.

It's probably my personality. Like when I watch movies, I cannot remember the color of say, Aragorns boots...black, brown, tan or green...beats me. Probably brown?

I am just one of those people....
