I think you misspoke with the "never captured the likeness" then.

Even if it's not 100% (nothing is). No 1:6 sculpt will ever been 1:1 perfect. So having things "off" doesnt mean it didnt capture the likeness.

This is still by far the best Viggo sculpt out there right now and its undeniably Viggo/Aragorn. (Especially the proto). Ray showed the quality of the sculpt with his repaint/rework. And its sure as **** ain't "Caveman Jesus".

It's unfortunate that there's such a wide variance in the hair between batches where people may be disappointed.

My 1st batch I was just "content" with it, but wasn't blown away like I was with Gandalf (which is also not 100% perfect either), but my 2nd batch (or latest batch) Aragorn blew me away. Paint was on point and hair was much more Viggo/Aragorn without the perm like look.

On a side note: I noticed my Aragorn 2 eyes are a lot tighter than Ver 1. Ver 1 eyes are very very loose. I almost thought they were going to fall out of his head.
I definitely misspoke – it’s what I get for being on this forum on my phone and on the fly. I think it’s awesome.

However, for INART figs I’ve seen in person, I still think Smirking Joker, Harry, Gandalf, Superman, and Raccoon and Cowled Batman have stronger likenesses with respect to their own sources though. Idk, I think Viggo has a distinct look based on every scene, making it harder to pinpoint a true overall base likeness.

EDIT: that being said, I think INART Aragorn is one of the best 1/6 mass produced figures of all time.

Aragorn has become the 'Joker' of LOTR. Divisive.

Thank goodness no one cares too much for Legolas... he should be a hit all the way 'round.
Just wait till he's released. I'm sure InArt will cut corners and people will cry fowl. I'm sure they they will nitpick to death Legolas' hair braids as well. Probably be a millimeter too small or too big or too long or too short. 🧐🧐🧐

Same thing with Ford as Indy. Everyone has this ideal look of the character or what the character / actor looks like in their mind. So people have different "favorites" as far as custom sculpts go.

Yes it’s the best 1/6 Viggo but that ain’t exactly a high bar to pass when the competition is Asmus and the defunct ACI. 🤷🏻‍♂️ You seem especially really annoyed that I think this sculpt is so bad for some reason.

I'm including customs before it too.
Edit: and yes I find your "Caveman Jesus" remark laughably hyperbolic.

Looks like a caveman Jesus.

I just don't get why people become overtly upset and very defensive over criticisms. At least, this hasn't turned into some of the threads over at the DC side. I actually enjoy reading HT threads more because with the years of criticism thrown at them, nobody really gets upset if some opinions vary from theirs.

Of the InArt sculpts, I actually think Aragorn is their most accurate to date. It's wild how divisive it is. Maybe I just got a well-painted/rooted sculpt and that's coloring my perspective. He's definitely my FOTY.

I can't imagine a mass-produced figure looking better than this 🤟

Aragorn has gone from the single most anticipated figure of all time, to the single most divisive figure of all time. There's been some polarizing figures before, for better or worse, but never quite like this.
