I can’t say I’m surprised. I’d say I’m actually more suprised we actually got what we got.

Frodo is actually huge. Sam too sure I guess but to me even though he’s probably almost no one’s favorite character, like it or not Frodo is the main character of LOTR. You can’t have a collection without him and he has to be as good as the best figure in your LOTR collection.

To me, other than the fellowship, Gollum, Arwyn and Sauroman are all you’d ever really need to feel complete. Maybe Galadriel…maybe Lurtz. But anything other than that is a deep cut IMO.

So yeah that’s a lot, maybe JND will pick up some of the holes other than the 4 hobbits. These companies all make the same damn characters but if they did I’d actually hope for Arwyn as their statue thing was nice.

Also from what I’ve been able to cobble together over the years Arwyn is really only the weak link. I didn’t think it would be the case but the customs I made of Saruman and Boromir years ago do hold up next to the inart stuff.

The asmus gollum needs work paint tweaks and other mods but it’s still decent.

I personally don’t even feel I need Merry and Pippen,

Of course I want the line to continue and of course I want less stupid jokers but the truth is if this ends here I’m ok with it too.

I just think it’s sad that a franchise that has so much love never seems to get the love from companies that fans start to get attached to. Every bloody company in the history of 1:6 scale and above has done the poxy dark knight joker. I’m so sick of seeing so many different iterations of it..we don’t need this many. They know that Lord of the rings was one of the biggest franchises ever, so why not capitalise off of it? If they don’t wanna make the 9 fellowship members fine, but don’t start out giving us characters like the Nazgul when that money producing the figures could be put towards characters that ACTUALLY complete so many of collectors collections-Gimli.

Yeah LotR is THE fantasy book/movie.
Almost all other fantasy movies are cheap crap. Except GoT or some gems here and there.
You should think more companies should have tried to get the rights over the years

Well, this isn’t the swirl of rumors I would want to wake up to.

I was really hoping to see a full Fellowship from InArt. It is disappointing that so many lines for LOTR get started, and fizzle before main characters get produced. While WETA has been most comprehensive in statues, I find their likenesses lacking sometimes.

One thing I like about collecting is getting a consistent representation from a single company/msnufacturer. I don’t know that I would want to piecemeal a line from multiple sources.

I am hoping this is needless confusion with a misunderstanding and mistranslation at an event, and I hope InArt puts out official word one way or another and soon.

This would kill any momentum for existing pre-orders or future figures that are already slated.

Is inart getting the Star Wars license? Weird to drop lotr when it’s a huge franchise. So stupid.

I wish they were, but no, they’re not getting Star Wars.

Idk guys, we don’t have confirmed information if they’re officially dropping LOTR, but fact of the matter is that INART isn’t just gonna do things that make them lose money and isn’t cost-efficient. I wager the LOTR line isn’t doing as well as they had hoped to see, so for now, other Fellowship members aside from Frodo and Sam are not in current development. It doesn’t mean that they’ve outright said that they won’t do them in the future..

I don't honestly care if they make the other two hobbits - Frodo and Sam are sufficient for me - but I cannot imagine them not doing Boromir and Gimli. If they abandon this series (or the Harry Potter line) without at least making the main characters, I will be very reluctant to get into future lines from them. I'm tired of buying into lines only to have them stopped halfway through. It's like QmX making a single figure for Firefly and Princess Bride - you buy in, assuming there will be more, and then feel sucker-punched when they cancel the line.

Still pissed at HTs for releasing Taylor and Barnes but not Elias.

By my count, six companies have undertaken the license and only one, Asmus, has completed the nine (and then some). The other companies I can recall were Dragon in Dream, ToyBiz, Sideshow, ACI, and now InArt. I think collectors might show greater appreciation for what Asmus has done.

The clear misses Asmus has put out can be upgraded with customs that rival InArt's detail and wind up costing about what InArt is charging. Dean Tolliver has done some excellent work on Frodo, Sam, and Aragorn, and Andrea Calabrese did a good upgrade of Boromir. I hope Dean will find time to do Pippen and Merry.

Lines! I think INART is trying to provide figures of characters that can represent a film/moment/entire IP/etc well enough and capture the essence of whatever the source is trying to convey. Case-by-case basis but imo, it doesn’t always have to be a full-blown “line”… Sometimes it can be just a duo, a group or even a standalone character.

Now in the case of the Fellowship, they should absolutely complete it. 9/9. They’re all so integral to the story and 5/9 looks stupid, I agree. But with other properties, you don’t need everyone and their mom, so I’d stop expecting that.

Maybe that’s why I like INART so much cause for the most part, they’re in line with my collecting philosophy where I want to represent all types of IPs.
