I wish they were, but no, they’re not getting Star Wars.Is inart getting the Star Wars license? Weird to drop lotr when it’s a huge franchise. So stupid.
Still pissed at HTs for releasing Taylor and Barnes but not Elias.I don't honestly care if they make the other two hobbits - Frodo and Sam are sufficient for me - but I cannot imagine them not doing Boromir and Gimli. If they abandon this series (or the Harry Potter line) without at least making the main characters, I will be very reluctant to get into future lines from them. I'm tired of buying into lines only to have them stopped halfway through. It's like QmX making a single figure for Firefly and Princess Bride - you buy in, assuming there will be more, and then feel sucker-punched when they cancel the line.
I've always appreciated ASMUS - for the same reasons I've always had - they do amazing work at their price point; plenty of accessories, great use of fabrics, and they actually are into Middle Earth. They don't skimp on materials.By my count, six companies have undertaken the license and only one, Asmus, has completed the nine (and then some). The other companies I can recall were Dragon in Dream, ToyBiz, Sideshow, ACI, and now InArt. I think collectors might show greater appreciation for what Asmus has done.
The clear misses Asmus has put out can be upgraded with customs that rival InArt's detail and wind up costing about what InArt is charging. Dean Tolliver has done some excellent work on Frodo, Sam, and Aragorn, and Andrea Calabrese did a good upgrade of Boromir. I hope Dean will find time to do Pippen and Merry.
