I don’t actually understand what the eye issue is; they were trying to do eyes that would move via a magnetic system- what/ but instead we’re just getting eyes using the Joker joystick?
The issue with Joker is the eyes not being aligned for the single joystick so just do individually articulated eyes!

Anyways, seeing as I didn’t even know there was going to be some special sort of eye system, these new accessories and updates are extremely welcome. An inscribed The One Ring in 1:6 scale?! Insane.
And the fireworks are a great touch.

So, just 3 more months till everyone outside of HK gets their Gandalf then, I guess..,

Same, had no idea it was originally magnetic eyes. I applaud them for the attempt, but if they couldn’t get it right, why risk ruining the figure. I do look forward to a future release to have it when they’ve perfected the tech.

Did you PO thru Kit the moment it went up?

Curious how the magnetic mechanism was intended to work. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of moveable eyes as it's an awful lot of engineering for a feature I tend not to use much. But I love that companies are still trying to crack the code on that feature. Shows they're trying to innovate.

Do you think that the magent base system will be the same that in the Joker?
I'm assuming it is based on the unusual shape the base has. I doubt they're able to cut a magnet big enough to conform to the odd shaped edge of the rocky base. On the other hand, one of the photos shows his feet spread apart on the base so maybe it's fixed? We won't know until it's in our hands I guess.

Also had no idea that they were trying to do magnetic eyes for this figure. Wonder how that was going to work but cool to see them include the fireworks and staff for free. Looking incredible all around. Hope it starts to ship within the next few weeks.

Yeah, I love that they’re 2 figures in, and they’re still trying to innovate and push the medium forward.

This drive is a double edged sword though. I don’t want them to feel they HAVE to innovate with every figure. That’s a fast track to burn out. Just stick with what works and when the passion and inspiration kicks in, experiment here and there.

Yknow…some of these replies indicate that most of us had no idea about the magnetic eyes. Did we not see the fine print or something?

IA just be like “Crap! See?! I told you no one knew about it! Great, we just gave them all this extra **** for nothing!”

Depends where you ordered from Kits getting his 1st batch in the next few weeks along with 1st batch of Pennywise in September.
Kit getting his first batch in 2-3-4 weeks then shipping it out will take another 2-3-4 weeks depending on where you live. Default shipping is via container ship or Airmail? So its end of september earliest or so.

Nice additions. Too bad about the eye system, but I can't see magnets that close together working well.... every time you get one eye aligned, the magnet of the other eye pulls it over.

I doubt I'll use the fireworks but they're fun and colorful. And I'll never be able to read it but the ring inscription seems like the best addition.

Great move on InArt's part to include the fireworks and ring post-pre-orders. Nice touch to their customers.

Now I'm regretting just a little on passing... :lol

PO’d with KG the moment they put it up. They got Joker a week or two after Kit.

Nice, that means it shouldn’t take long for you to receive mithrandier 😁

Bro….

Bills aren’t THAT important. You CAN skip a few meals.

😜

How could you PASS on this??

I find it interesting that a few days (maybe a week?) after Asmus releases their upgraded GtG head, InArt release a production video of their Gandalf. We constantly talk about HT chasing/competing with InArt, but haven't stopped to think about InArt wanting to compete with the only other 1/6 LOTR manufacturer to keep the spotlight on themselves rather than Asmus' new and shiny Gandalf upgrade.

I'm assuming it is based on the unusual shape the base has. I doubt they're able to cut a magnet big enough to conform to the odd shaped edge of the rocky base. The base itself doesn't need to be a giant magnet though. It just needs to be a magnetized material so that magnets can attract and attached to it. For example most refrigerators aren't giant magnets but you can usually place a magnet on the face of the refrigerator doors. There could be/could've been a magnetized plate cut to size inside the base which would allow for us to place the figures anywhere on the base but still have the magnets work to keep the feet planted. Would've been even easier for Joker since he has a flat round base. I haven't been able to find any consumer magnetized plates to do this with Joker, but I'm sure a company would have no issue sourcing it.

AND....

I guess it doesn't seem to bother anyone else that InArt seem to have STILL not made the sleeves longer for the thumbhole based on the pic below that shows his hands pretty well on each one of these figures (specifically center left where he's grasping that creature). Was this another thing they felt unnecessary like the floral print at the bottom of his pants?
