I definitely plan on getting Frodo and Sam.

My ideal LOTR displays are:

1. Gandalf + Frodo
2. Gandalf / Frodo + Sam + Gollum (if made)
3. Gandalf + Frodo + Sam

These are the only characters I envision wanting from LOTR.

With Frodo’s hair being as curly and disheveled as it is (all the Hobbits, really), I wouldn’t even consider Frodo without a sculpted version. After seeing 632589953790 different versions of Aragorn’s hair I definitely don’t trust InArt’s rooting on Frodo.

Might even just get the Asmus version if it comes out nicely when released, save some coin for a possible Boromir.

Couldn’t disagree more with your assessment on various points. Respectfully, I think you should just call it with INART, they’re clearly not your cup of tea.
Depends. The honeymoon is over.
Now wait and see if they rethink the feedback they've gotten, and I'm in a corner crying because I missed Legolas.

Yeah, I'm sure InArt is doing just fine and I'm happy for them. I still believe what they're doing is great. Great figures, and great for the hobby.

For me, each figure is a case by case. I'll likely PO Legolas... but it's the first time I've been halted by InArt's pricing. I think its more than I like Gandalf and Aragorn very much, but have less affinity for Legolas as a character and as a figure. So the higher price makes it even tougher.

I think the only InArt figures I would plunk down big money for again, even sight unseen, would be InArt Darth Vader (ANH) and InArt Indiana Jones.
Pretty much where I am mentally with this line.
Despite LOTR being my favourite thing ever, money is finite and I too have less affinity with Legolas to put these kind of funds towards him - especially as that would kind of "lock" me into getting the whole, or at least most, of the Fellowship - and thats before we even talk about secondary characters like Saruman, Galadriel, Elrond or even tertiary characters like Lurtz who I would be more interested in buying.
Really beat myself up over the decision but I'm pretty much decided to, reluctantly, leave Legolas.

Would love an Inart Indiana Jones, but so far in terms of movie figures I think they've only done licenses run by WB - like Harry Potter, LOTR and DC.

I really think if Inart does decide to make the hobbits its going to be a real scaling challenge for them and with that a pricing challenge. In terms of accuracy to 1/6th the hobbits if we go on the high side would only be MAX 5 inches tall and trying to compress the amount of detail is going to be absurd. How tall is harry potter without the base? If they make them I think they will intentionally upscale them just to give a more bang for the buck and charge that $300-400 range

In INART we trust. I’m sure they’ll get it right and price accordingly. They also have said Frodo and Sam are in the works, so they’re definitely coming, just a question of when.

Harry is like 9” I believe which lines up scaling-wise given he was around 4’10” in movie 1. And Frodo’s movie height is 4’1” So the figure wouldn’t be 5 inches max… it should be 7.5-8 inches in height.

For me, assuming InArt will make everyone on the list:

The good guys, I'll settle with InArt Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli.
If I have the budget I will add InArt Frodo.

For the good girls, I'll settle with InArt Arwen and Galadriel.

The bad guys, I'll settle with InArt Witchking (with horse), Gollum, and Saruman.
If I have the budget I will add InArt Sauron. (I already have the third party that looks pretty good!)

Then I will be happy with my LOTR 1/6 collection!

It would be very hard to turn down Arwen, I must admit. I've always been a sucker for pairs, so Aragorn/Arwen, Legolas/Gimli, and Gandalf/Frodo would be quite a strong display.

Yes!
Would be perfect for InArt Aragorn, side by side.
And InArt is the only one who can do Arwen justice in 1/6, especially in the likeness department.
I have almost all Arwen collectibles (including the latest JND statue), and I can't wait to have the InArt version to fill in the 1/6 scale.
(I already sold my asmus Arwens).

The hype will continue for me, thank you very much.

I just had the chance to open my InArt Aragorn and Harry Potter yesterday..
And believe me, the hype is even stronger.
I am relieved to get perfect paint and hair on both headsculpts, and just the overall unboxing experience is amazing.

The boxes are layered.. we got the brown box, and then the outer box, the clear/transparent sleeve, and the gold ring thick box wrapped with sealed clear plastic.
At first I was like.. wow, lotsa layers here.. but then my InArt Harry Potter box arrived with a bad dent (that even made a small hole) on the brown box, it also made a dent on the outer box, but the inside boxes are pristine.
No dent whatsoever. This is premium protection for our collection.. and all done beautifully, design-wise. (y)
(I once had the awful experience of unboxing a $350 "Deluxe" LOTR figure from another 1/6 company with only a brown box as the packaging, and no other boxes inside for protection or aesthetics element).
The way InArt put their head sculpts, in that clear tube, and the instruction/manual booklet, etc.
They even made a YouTube video with instructions on how to tie the belt, straighten the robe, treat the hair, etc..
It brings the joy of unboxing figures that I have long forgotten.

I can't wait to add InArt Legolas, and hopefully InArt Frodo to the bunch!

Correct, but the entire body needs to be scaled down too, not just the height. Moving eyes too.

Otherwise we end up with children...

I think nowadays with the advancement of digital scanners and printing, scaling up or down to certain scales is not a problem.
Let's just hope they understood the source material enough to make the Hobbits an under-scaled creature instead of smol child-scaled.

Am I imagining it, or didn’t someone a while back post a picture from FB of all the upcoming InArt releases confirmed? Was there any other LOTR on that? I remember it had Harley from Joker 2 on and some other random ones.

I don't think anything is 'confirmed' until we have pics + specs. Lists of figures are too easily faked. Prototypes shown at conventions can never find their way to production. It's not real until the manufacturer officially puts it up for sale.

Harley probably seemed like a good idea until the movie released.
Odds are they’ll ditch that plan if she was ever on the cards to begin with.
