Ive seen that kid in both roles.. seroius and family entertianment. He's pretty good. I wouldnt blame the kid of the movie is gonna sink blame it on the writer and director. If lucas directs and writes indy is DOOMED!

Look at Episode 1 and 2..
Yeah the kid was a BURTAL actor in episode 1... but episode 2 Hayden Christensen was in that one and if anyone has seen Life as a House he was a really actor in that movie.

LUCAS cant direct!.... and lucas didnt direct episode 4,5,6....he hired people to do it. I really hope Speilberg helps out a ton everything he touches is GOLD..

Yep. If Stallone can pull it off the Ford sure can. Even if the movie isn't as action packed as the previous Indy movies I'm still looking forward to seeing the character again on the big screen.

Anyways, I thought that Lafloof kid was pretty good in The Greatest Game Ever Played.

Ford isn't taking steroids like Sly has and all that pot he's smoked has fried most of his brain cells.

Well, actually Lucas did direct Episode 4. And Spielberg is definitely directing Indy 4, not just helping out. It'll be his movie.

It should have ended at 3. I guess Ford needs to pay the bills somehow...

Hehe, Star Wars , The adventures of Han and Son....:chew

Ughh... everywhere I turn that ********* is in another movie I wanted to see. Maybe Shia will be awesome in an Indy movie and Transformers... but I seriously doubt it.

When they throw in actors like this (lame/non-threatening) I get very concerned about the quality of the project. Not to mention Ford is pretty old.

I'm trying not to get excited about it, but it'll be difficult! I'm pretty thrilled to get another Indy film.

I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't become a 'reunion' movie with a lot of familiar characters. I really wish Denholm Elliot could return, and that be it, but....of course that isn't happening. :(

I'd be perfectly fine not seeing Henry Sr. return. Love the character, but I'd just assume leave him to exist in LC.

As for Shia Labeouf.....never cared for him.....but then again, I can't stand Tom Cruise...and yet Minority Report is probably my favorite newer Spielberg venture. so I'm not too concerned. If Cate Blanchet is cast, as rumored, I think she'll be fantastic!

okay....surely it's just a matter of time now before we get Indy sculptures and figures.....PLEASE! :) (I plead as a fan not a sculptor!!!)

Reading this thread got me thinking: Everyone who feels that Ford is too old, please reply and post YOUR age. I'm 31 and I see no problem with Ford playing a 65 year old Indy as long as it's relevant to his age - i.e. they don't try to pretend he's still in Raider's shape. Some of you "young'uns" seem to think people just lay down and die when they turn 50. It seems like a lot of the people *****in' about Ford's age forget that Indy has always been an adventurer ... he' didn't become an archeologist to get college chicks (although ... if the movie is to be believed ... it was a pleasant after-effect :D ). He did it because of his love of history and discovery. Why would you think someones life long passion would disappear because the character was older? You really think this character would be sitting at home in his recliner? No. He would be out there exploring ... same as ever. I could also see him bringing his son along. The entire sub-plot with his father in Crusade was the fact that his father ignored him. I refuse to believe Indy would commit the same cardinal sin. He would bring his son along with him ... make him a part of his world. So, from the little I have read, all of it is very faithful to the character development that came before.

P.S. As for the person who said "it's unnecessary" ... you can say that about any sequel. Empire wasn't "necessary", Star Wars could have ended there and still been a great story. The Godfather Part 2 wasn't "necessary". Aliens wasn't "necessary". And I could go on into infinite. However, they were still amazing films. And with Spielberg and Ford along for the ride (and hopefully Connery), I have no reason to believe that this movie will be bad. It should be at least as entertaining as the previous movies.

I think if Dave installed something on the page to play the Indiana Jones theme when this page is open everyone would be tingly with excitement. Now everyone, whistle it with me.

Yea, people forget that Lucas was up for 2 best director Oscars.

How many have bashers been up for?

Well, I'll confess I'm surprised by that... Maybe he lost his touch?
