Annie Hall great picture.

But Star Wars is iconic. Spawned 5 sequels over How many years?

Maybe two if you overlook the Teddy Bears.

But they still made buckets of money.

This could work or it could be a train wreck. I want to know more plot points and such before I figure out which one. I am not getting my hopes up though, just in case

But how many of those sequels were actually good? :lol

Annie Hall vs Star Wars, in the end it's all about who made the most money.

I don't think anyone criticizes hi res pictures of Woody Allen figures :rotfl

I actually think the kid is a good actor. Liked him in Constantine. Depends how he plays the role.

He was good in Constantine--- as comic relief, not as action hero--- let's see TRANSFORMERS when he's diving from balls of flame and then in INDY 4 when he impresses gramps---er dad with his whip abilities.

I don't know... Ford looked awfully old in that last flick about the savy world of computer security--- I hope it's not CGI filled. Why was CASINO ROYALE so good? Real stunts with real stunt people (and the lead actor doing as many stunts as possible--- just as Ford did.... twenty years ago).

Actually it was Chas (sounds like Chaz) Kramer. But anywho...

I will admit that I didn't want Indy to EVER have a kid, if that's what he's gonna play, which he probably is. I would peronally much prefer if he just had him as more of a sidekick type person, but I guess that role was filled a few weeks ago. But I can agree that if they DID give him a son, Shia would be a very good choice. I think he's a very good actor for someone his age. And yeah... I though he was pretty damn funny in Even Stevens.

Still, no matter what, this is still my most anticipated movie of all time.

I'm 47 and Ford is definitely too old for the Indy character we know. But we may be surprised if the Indy character reflects his age of 65, and his son does all the stunts. Somehow, I don't think that's going to happen here.

And if Cate Blanchett is cast, it will be like putting a silk hat on a pig. Since her flawless LOTR performances, anything less will just be mediocre.

Honestly, I don't have really high hopes for this movie being good, mostly because sequels made after this much time aren't, and as much as I enjoy the prequels, they were a bit of a let down. Which brings me to the point of my post, even though I don't expect the movie to be good, I fully expect it to be fun. And if a movie is fun I can forgive it not being all that good. It's why I enjoy the prequels almost as much as the OT--I have fun watching them. Same with Jurassic Park 3, to me I don't think the movie was all that great (Lost World was good up until the T. Rex rampaged in San Diego to me) but the movie was still fun so I enjoyed it. Overall I'm really excited about Indy 4.

Not sure the plot line but from what I have heard Shia is going to be playing Indy's son so its not like he is playing the young Jones or anything. I can see why he was cast as he does look somewhat like ford and could pass as his son.

I do think that Ford is getting long in the tooth for Indy but why not if Rocky can still fight, and John Mclain looks like an unkillable super hero. Indy can still swing from a whip, still shoot a couple people and punch a guy in the face every now and then.

That's how I feel about it too... Rocky was still good, Die Hard 4 still looks cool to me, so does Rambo 4.... So I'm excited about it. And the kid looks like Harrison a bit, especially the nose.... so it works. I'm sure that Spielberg will bring out some good acting from the kid.

I'm 50, and Ford is absolutely not too old for the Indy character that I know.

Of course Ford's going to be playing an older version of the character. Indy's going to have a grown son, after all. I could easily see him pulling off a (mid-to-late) 50-something Indy in a very believable way.

I saw "Disturbia" last night and Shia carried the movie. He was great. Older now, not so much the 'wise-ass-kid' thing. He got more edge now that he's older. Works better, and I could see how he could be Indy's son. I buy it.

There is a definite similarity too -- especially in the hazel-green eyes and somewhat in the nose.

Great news and points from both you guys...I'm still REALLY excited for this final Indy film. I think it'll be GREAT! Don't forget, it's also got Cate Blanchett AND Ray Winstone too. And hopefully some cameos (at least) from Connery and Davies and Indy's former leading ladies.

Lucas, Ford and Spielberg all waited 10 years to get the PERFECT script for this...if it was just Lucas, I'd be worried, but having Ford and Spielberg weigh in on an approved script gives me great faith in the project.

I have a feeling that it will be at least as good as The Last Crusade...it will be near impossible to top Raiders, but if it's at least as good as The Last Crusade, I'll be WELL satisfied.

We'll get a better idea as they start production and photos and clips show up on the web. I CAN'T wait for the teaser trailer in November! :D

Now Sideshow, give us a Raiders PF already! :chew

im 21, and im lookin forward to this, coz its got 3 ppl, who know what they are doing, im not going to be surpriesed if its going to end up to be the worst of the indy's, i hope it dont, but u never know. i dont think ford is too old to play indy, coz its his character, he is an arciologist, do all archiologist's quit if they get over 60, **** off they dont, but theres 1 thing i dont know and, who the hell is this sha bla....forgoten his name, anyway, im sure he'll do well, ford will make him welcome im sure.

I'm totally stoked for this. I love the Indy Movies. Ford can pull it off assuming they portray him at an older age. If they try to have him running around like he did in 1988 or something then that could be a problem.

You know, it could actually make for an interesting aspect of the story to have Indy wishing he could still run around the way he did 20 years ago. Maybe even have him try and fail, reluctantly coming to terms with his age, and sort of passing the torch to his son.
