Indiana Jones in German Disguise 12-inch Figure

I'll venture a guess and say that with this figure, Sideshow is simply picking up where Hasbro dropped the ball. The 12" Hasbro Indy in German disguise does indeed exist, but it's extremely hard to find. I know. I used to own one; found it at Kroger. And there are collectors out there desperately searching for it. So, although the numbers might be small, there is obviously a segment of the collecting community out there who is interested in this figure. So Sideshow makes one, probably at a low production cost, while (hopefully) continuing to invest in the R&D of more complex characters like perhaps Mola Ram. I'm sure we'll see another 1:6 announced at SDCC (I expect Marion at some point. I demand Mola Ram).

How much did you sell your Hasbro one for?

At cost. It went to a collector friend of mine. I liquidated my Indy Hasbro collection some time ago (lack of room); kept only the ToD figures in the end.

Ah nice. I never got into the Hasbro line but I think if I did just to collect them I would keep them in box, since I really don't have space for the stuff I have now. What are they going for now?

I'm not sure what the 12" Indy is going for at the moment. I haven't been paying attention to ebay and the last time I checked the price guides in Toy Fair and such, I didn't even see it listed. If you see it, I'd say pick it up. It's definitely an elusive figure.

It's the production paint and the floppy body. Trevor's sculpt was phenomenal.

My bad, when Something Sexy said "last Indy figure" I mistook it as "the last figure released in the Indy line" aka Belloq. No, Indy himself was awesome. I think you can chalk that up to collector ADD. It took Sideshow too long to finally release him and when they did, it seemed, here anyway, like people were looking for reasons to justify their already canceled pre-orders. That and the reamings by negative bandwagon towers like Agent5 didn't help either. You troll through a thread with comments like his, others will jump onboard and cancel based on your own hate (even though he, I believe, kept all of his). :lol

WTF?! :thwak

:p All kidding aside, I actually think there's a significant enough difference between him and the Adventure Gear release to actually warrant being made. Plus, it'd bridge the age gap between the first 3 and KOTCS nicely. I'd buy one! :D

He actually looks quite cool in that pic but hell, if we're going that far, why not bring these guys as well ;) :

I would actually love a Mystery of the Blues Indy, as well young Indy and his fat Belgian buddy in their WWI uniforms.

Sooo...

Does anybody know when this will go up for sale? :monkey3

The Sideshow page doesn't say "Priority Pre-Order" and the exclusive edition size, price, etc. like Lando did. It doesn't even vaguely say "Coming Soon" like Piett did.

Does that mean there won't be an exclusive and it's just going up for sale with the newsletter next week? I think Antilles was like that.

I am sure it will be up this Thursday.

Yeah, it'll be a newsletter pre-order this week. I'm guessing there will be an exclusive though, or it may end up being one of those domestic web exclusive deals.

It'll probably start another round of wailing in here, but just a straight-up web-exclusive, no frills, no big environment figure (ala Praji) would be okay with me.

I'm guessing the reg version is going to be $70. Depending on accessories, I just don't see him being the same price or value as the standard Indy.
