Got my German Indy last night. I like him quite a bit. The sculpt is fantastic and apart from the fact that it's a pretty basic figure and the tunic color is wrong (they even have the right color on the box!) I really can't find too many negative things to say about it.

Glad you finally got it and like it, Choopie. Yeah, the price was on the high side considering the lack of extras, but it's a nice figure that looks great with the rest of the Raiders gang. The sculpt and paintjob are really quite good. The plastic they cast the head in is great and I hope they continue using it. It's got a nice finish and translucence about it.
Since most of the discussion around here has shifted onto the end of the Indy line, I thought I'd post a photo of my German Indy. I completely agree with the complaints about price and lack of hatless sculpt, but the uniform colour issue totally has me stumped. Has everyone been taking photos with a yellow flash bulb? Anyways, I'm a fan of this figure and I enjoy the new sculpt (even though it appears to be in 1/5 scale).

The jacket certainly does look more green in person than any of the pictures I've taken or seen. But it's definitely not as green as the prototype looked.
I'm wondering if the slightly larger noggin is due to shrinkage (or lack thereof) of the cast? The plastic used to cast the head is different than the ones we've been seeing. So maybe the sculpt was created with shrinkage in mind and Sideshow was surprised to find that there wasn't much (if any) shrinkage once they did the full casting run?

I'd love to see a pic of this head held next to the Raiders PF. 
If this head had the paint apps of the ROTLA Adventure Indy figure we'd officially have this line's Faramir.

At the end of the day if I had got one, I would have thrown that head away and used the hat-less head from the first Indy regardless.

Well if you get one don't throw it away and send me the head so I can use it for my Adventure Indy.
Sorry man, but I need it for a Professor Indy.Problem is, I have used up all my True Types, and all I have left is the Pro body from the first Indy.

people complain that this is a horrible figure. it's not. i like him.
i ended up getting 2 customizing the first by switch hats..
it looks great. i compared it to the head that does not have the hat and there the same size.
why side show could not do the sculpt better on the first.

It's not the head size that's the problem, it's the large face.
The first sculpt walks all over it, what let that down was the paint job.

I'd buy a TOD Indy & Mola Ram from Hot Toys in a mili-second. Price is no issue, because the quality and detail would be there.

I'm sorry, there is NO WAY even HT could improve on the Henry Jones Sr. Figure. Medicom tried and it was a disaster....
