I mentioned the lack of strap, but where are people seeing a shoulder brace? I see part of the strap on Indy's shoulder, but not a brace anywhere.

I have to say, the paint on this looks really good. I pulled mine out of the box and the first thing I thought was "wow they did something new, something better with their paint apps." It makes the sculpt look completely new and realistic. I'd dare say right on par with Hot Toys. The disappointing thing about this figure is that the only accessories were a gun and a pair of closed-fisted hands. A pretty steep price to pay.

Ok, so here are some snaps of the Indy bash. Thoughts? I'm going to go ahead and post this in the Indy custom thread as well.

********* it pisses me off that the head on this inferior figure is SO much better painted than the fugly one that came with the ONE figure in the entire line that actually matters: ROTLA Indy. Man, Sideshow can really :banghead :banghead sometimes.

Now you gotta go get one of these heads and change the hats to have the definitive Sideshow Indy figure.

I love this shot. It looks like TOD Indy saying "We walk from here!"

The ROTLA face is sculpted great, but the factory paint apps really take away. You can see it in my side by side pic:

I still like the Raiders head better. Except the Fu-Manchu 'stache. The German Indy just looks... exaggerated somehow. Jaw too big or something. Can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's just that the nose and jaw are bigger which makes him look older.

I can look beyond some inaccuracies to recognize the fact that Sideshow is the ONLY company that did not give up on the Indy license when all other companies like GG were bailing out. I also recognize the fact that what Indy merchandise is still out there is not half as nice-looking as what Sideshow has produced to date. There is a company out there who is giving us fans what we've been waiting for for 25 years, so personally I'm not really complaining much.

Well said Choopie! Also we can't foget that Hasbro the biggest manufacturer of Indy toys dropped the line when they were set to release a wave of some of the most requested and best looking figures of the line .

I got it. If you took the eyes out of the German Indy it would look like a rubber Halloween mask. See...

Yeah, Hasbro had a good thing going with their figures. ToD and LC looked great and I was looking forward to the new waves. Oh well, maybe when the new movie comes out, they'll pick up where they left off.

Speaking of Hasbro, I just bought the 12" Cairo Swordsman. I think he looks pretty good and will display well with the rest of the Raiders figures. But it certainly isn't a character I'd drop $90 on from Sideshow.

Still waiting on BBTS to get German Indy in stock. I've got some store credit I'd like to use with that purchase.

The Cairo Swordsman wasn't a bad looking figure at all but the Indys didn't look too good.

BBTS for whatever reason can take awhile on some realease with SS to come in??

Cairo Swordsman is the only Hasbro I picked up. Decent figure, although you'll need to replace the body to get the height right... and then of course you'll need to extend the 'robe' down a bit longer to compensate. Sculpt's good enough, maybe a tad small but not noticeable with the turbin. General repaint of face and sword. And you gotta replace that red satin sash.

So with those Mods a $20.00 figure just became a $60.00 one. If thats the only option you and at the moment it is then I'd go for it. I'd just be pissed after putting in the time, effort and $$ that Sideshow would do one.

I didn't order CS Indy or Henry Jones so German Indy is my last until the next annoucement I'm very happy though with the 4 ROTA offerings though.

Nah, I'm not going to go through all of that trouble for just a $12 figure. He's good enough as is for me.

The only other Hasbro figure I have is the 12" German Indy. Looking forward to comparing the two when the Sideshow German Indy arrives.
