Saw the new trailer during IRON MAN.

There was mild chatter during all the other film trailers (The Happening, The Love Guru, etc.). But as soon as that familiar "eerie" music hit and Ford's voice spoke out, EVERYONE immediately shut up.

So what's the deal? Now I am seeing John Hurt listed as playing "Professor Oxley." Is he Ravenwood or Oxley? If he is just "Professor Oxley" then why all the secrecy?

weak last minute attempt at spoiler control?

Your avatar makes me wonder about something. Does anyone think Indy will lose his eye in this movie? Lucas likes to make his projects tie in to each other (like the Hayden ghost at the end of ROTJ) so do you think Indy might lose his eye so that it ties in with the Indy in his 90's from the Young Indy TV show?

I hope not! That would be gruesome.

:sick

I'm kind of hoping now that he does lose it. There's an old character in the original Metal Gear, Big Boss, who wore an eyepatch. In Metal Gear Solid 3, you get to play as a young Big Boss, and one of the best scenes in the game is when he loses the eye. I've always been facinated with how characters got their distinctive scars (like Indy getting his chin scar at the beginning of Last Crusade) so now that I remember old Indy has an eyepatch, I want to see how it happens.

Indy won't lose an eye in the film.

Besides, Lucas removed Old Indy from the Young Indiana Jones DVD release anyway.

(And, no, Indy doesn't die, either).

There's a story set after KOTCS in the young Indy boxset...

Well...part of one...

Indy still has both eyes...and a beard...

AND was played by you know who...which was cool...

Really? Mystery of the Blues is set after KOTCS? That's weird, because he looks 50 in Mystery of the Blues and he looks 65 in KOTCS. :)

Incidentally, those scenes with Ford were shot on his property in Wyoming and it was during production then that Lucas came up with the original idea for INDY IV.

Nope as Irish said Lucas has removed ol' one-eyed Indy from continuity.

And where has it been said the the Blues episode comes after KotCS??

Cool! I've got all 3 boxed sets. Which set is this one on?

Volume 3... the one that just came out last week. :duff

BTW, Spielberg was going to direct that episode but couldn't because it conflicted with the production of SCHINDLER'S LIST.

It's a pretty cool episode, too. Older Indy (with a Spielbegesque beard, by the way) playing a saxophone = :rock

Note: He's only in the bookend scenes... not the entire episode (which is a flashback to Young Indy, of course).

Is this the one where he's driving around in the snow?
