Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''
Without knowing how much influence Lucas Film exerted over the choice of characters, I think it's pretty obvious that SSC has made some major errors with the Indy line and most, if not all, of the blame for its failure can be laid at their door. First and foremost was the delays that occurred between the announcement of the line, the presale of the first figure and its eventual release - from memory the release date for the first Indy was moved back two or three times. And then for the figure to have major looseness issues with the body and what, at best, can be described as average paint applications, set the line back from its very start. I, for one, absolutely refuse to get onboard with the idea that we should just expect to have to replace the bodies on Sideshow figures with one from Hot Toys, and that we will need to send headsculpts away for repainting. If the popularity of HT products have shown us nothing else, it is that people are prepared to spend additional money upfront to own something that doesn't need to be "fixed". My gut feeling is that the people who paid $90 for Indy are mostly the same people who paid $150 for Joker/Rocky/whoever.
After that you can add dubious character choices (questionable-likeness Belloq in uninspiring costume, German Indy), continuing quality issues (major colour discrepancies between Toht's head/hands and body, poor likeness on the Ark), perceptions of over-price (German Indy again, the choice of polystone for the Ark), and now it seems that there are internal scale problems with the heads being called too large for the bodies - Sideshow has mismanaged the line and it's fairly clear that 1/6 is not where their priorities, or true talents, lie.
