Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I guess its all in how you choose to approach it suppose. I tend to give my friends the benefit of the doubt. I know how much they care about the lines they have and how they want them to do well and will do them assuming they do well.

I hear ya. And despite their love for all things Middle Earth, which genuinely comes through in the backstage pass vids and Q&A, they still axed it. So here's hoping they keep their word! :duff

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

They did. It wasn't selling and they had to as much as it sucked for everyone. I have all faith they will. Till we see something thats all I got.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

Doubtful. The reality is Sideshow looked at the profit margins of the polystone product line versus the profit margin of the 1/6 line and said "It's not worth it". Sideshow survived for the first 5 years of their existence selling 1/6 scale figures with smaller product runs than their LOTR line and that didn't stop them.

Smaller companies are able to survive with smaller incomes. A line that's "not worth it" is one that either breaks even between cost and profit, or one that loses money outright. The first is sufficient to doom a line, but I'm fairly certain that the latter situation is what killed LOTR 1:6.

Again, "development" can mean anything from "They're two months out" to doodling muscles and boobies on a pro during production meetings. My money's on the latter.

Which is still more than the mere lipservice they're accused of when something they declare to be in development doesn't come out a month later.

Well, with the amount of lip service we've gotten, I doubt anybody would last past the halfway point of a 50/50. Which is why, I'm taking the pessimistic approach. :lol

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

You don't have to tell me. I stopped paying attention to this line as soon as the clucking over Indy's zipper began. When they released German Indy, I was sure the gig was up.

However...I was wrong :lecture

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I'm on the giving Sideshow the benefit of the doubt and believing them side on this.

That said, if these figures never materialize I will blast them. Hard.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

In the end I am more than pleased with what we have gotten so far... granted German Indy was kind of a bum choice... I am still thrilled that Indy got a shot and we weren't just stuck with the crappy Toys McCoy Indy forever.. I'd love to at least see Shorty, Mola, and Marion wind up in 1/6 scale.... (Raiders Marion that is !) who knows....

The only "definite" thing in that sentence is a polystone environment. :lol

Be odd if they offer the environment first, sans TOD figures, and then don't make them (or more acurately use it as an excuse not to) because the cart environment didn't sell well.

THAT would be pretty messed up. I was/am hoping they release a figure with the mine cart.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

They do mention in the Q&A from yesterday that the new female bodies are due in prototype soon. Eventually I will just commission a Marion Ravenwood sculpt if she does not show up, but there is hope as long as they have the licence. If we do not see her or Willie by next SDCC I will be surprised.

Re: Indy 12'' line on ''pause.''

I can't wrap my head around the plan to develop a mine cart environment before figures. To announce that you're developing a mine cart, but figures are still down the road. . . it's just bizarre.

It's like having a DeLorean time machine, but no plutonium to power it.

They still haven't corrected this thread title? Sheesh. :slap

Remember someone at SSC though releasing the Star Wars chess board without a Chewbacca, R2D2 or C3PO to sit by it was a winning idea.

Yes, by all means, correct it. It should read Indy 12" environment line not on "pause".
