yes, there are slow parts, quite a few, but they are to build tension to a quick fire climax. it's like 10 to 20 mins of build up and then 30 secs of mayhem, then you get the after math. and the closer and closer we get to the climax of every chapter, the closer you want to get to the edge of your seat lol this was actually taratinos lest bloodiest movie, I was surprised.

i saw it....it was awesome....but a little to talky..but then again is Taratino..what can you do?

Eli Roth is hot! :drool

I enjoyed this immensely. Great movie! :rock

I enjoyed every scene, and to me, it didn't drag on at all. Great acting, humor, action and script. Loved it.

Is it self indulgent? yes. Is it masturbatory? yes. Is it amoral and does it encourage the viewer to find joy in torture, mutilation and murder? yup. So your mileage may vary in finding those good or bad things.

That said, it's a fun, well crafted, interesting film which I greatly enjoyed watching. Some wonderful moments and shots with a few classic Tarantino set pieces and characters.

Re: Inglourious Basterds trailer....

I saw it las t night...
I'm no fan of QT...
His only movie that I liked before this, was Kill Bill...
and this one, I liked quite a bit...

Killin Natzeys hehe. Love the voice but who in the 40's sounded like that exactly?

I'm a fan of Tarantino's films although the man himself is incredibly difficult to take. Casting another director who is equally annoying and egotistical in this film almost ruined it for me, but luckily Eli Roth's part wasn't terribly big.

But from a filmmaking point of view, I think this is QT's best work. Sure it's almost all homage to other films, but the way he puts it together, the compelling characters, the often funny in the face of tragedy dialogue - all make this a great movie. Pitt is spot on - I never thought I was watching Brad Pitt the movie star, it's more of a character actor's piece, but Pitt was very funny and a joy to watch. I missed having other American or British stars in the film, although I'm sure quite a few of the actors are famous in Germany. I know Til Schweiger is at least, and he was great. The guy playing Landa stole the film from Pitt though - he's up there with Ledger's Joker at being the consumate film villain. But he's more complex and far more charming than Joker.

And some have mentioned that it's talky - there are at least 2 dialogue scenes that you think go on too long. But I realized as I was watching the second heavy dialogue scene that I should be annoyed at how talky this is, but I wasn't - I was enjoying the characters and the dialogue too much.

I'm sure the film will be criticized for the ending, but I'm so glad I wasn't spoiled on it as I thought that they couldn't possibly end it that way.

I'm with you Dave! LANDA stole the show!! The first chapter of teh movie had me on the edge of my seat!! After that it was sleepy time with all the blah blah they were talking...especially the bar scene! I also agree with you about Pitt...altho i felt that he was only in the movie for about 40% he was great as Aldo.....and Eli Roth wasn't to bad.....I love his psycho look tho.

The bar scene was the 2nd "talky" scene I mentioned - probably my favorite scene of the film that didn't have Landa in it.

I cant wait to see this movie...only thing stopping me is Eli Roth and Eli Roth and Eli Roth and Eli Roth and Eli Roth and Eli Roth and Eli Roth and Eli Roth ....:lol

He's got a small role - he didn't spoil the movie for me and I REALLY hate him.

Wow I had hopped for more I just saw this today and I got say I liked Kill Bill more, this movie was good but felt there were to many plot holes and wished there was more focus on the Basterds then on Suhanna or whatever the blonde girl was called.

nope...the rolling eyes is for Quentin.....the ding ding ding...is that i agreed with you totally lol!

Thanks! I know I felt this time around that I just had to watch this movie because it was Quentin ya know? But I honestly feel he could do so much better, and whats up with all the western music? The opening felt a lot like Once upon a time in the west, I think he should just do a great western, but I guess Kill Bill was sort of like that.
