Their Busts & 1:2 Statues have suffered more.

Even though the facesculpt isn't the best, I really wish I was collecting when the Mark 1 came out. One of the only pieces I wish I had from back then.

Moment of truth for me this morning, got my SS Iron Man Mark 3 Maquette...

Just as I thought, not as horrible as the first photos, not as good as the production photos, just somewhere in between. Cameras always hide and emphasize stuff you can see in person both good and bad. The mud work on the feet are overdone but when you don’t see in photos is the subtle dirt on the legs that don’t make it as bad. The line work sometimes becomes more like shading which doesn’t look too bad when you’re not staring at it a few inches away. I know for some who love the clean line and paints of XM will not be a fan. I’m not totally sure I’m gonna keep this because of the paint work and I’m hoping for a good Mark 7 (sorry I don’t love the all weapons out look on the XM). Anyways, let the all the emotional outpouring begin with these photos...

Looks pretty good to me. I love the film but want a more futuristic mark for my only 1/4 scale iron man. The weathering does look a bit inconsistent and doesn't match the base

Overall:
yeah… well… hum…

The mud boot: ugh… overdone.
The battle damage: cheaply done, but can live with that.
Oversize chest: not a problem. It's only a perspective issue. Looking from one side is huuuuge… but the other is perfectly fine.

Is it ok? Yeah… I guess. But since importing this to Canada and with 35% conversion fees + 15% taxes + 5% statue tax which give a grand total of 1300$ CDN for it, damn I find this expensive!!!

I might be totally wrong on this, but if you're talking about the white paint dots, I think I've seen them there on other photos. So it might be intentional?

Yeah, the dude right above you has the same weathering on the knee.

Hate to break it to you: probably not a defect. Sideshow's painters just suck XD

Unfortunately no, I’ve modified it to be deeper.
It doesn’t fit properly in a simple Besta.
