why, were there issues with these

Probably my most favourite Sideshow collectable in my collection...love this maquette! I have even gone one step further and am in the process of completely re-vamping mine. I have decided to respray all the red and silver parts to improve Sideshows paintwork as i wasnt too overly keen on the silver chrome parts and looked rather dull, once i've done that i will then begin with adding some battle damage to recreate that amazing final scene with War Machine in Iron Man 2 (i will also be customising my War Machine once the Iron Man is completed). However, the main reason i wanted to customise my Iron Man maquette was that i wasnt particularly happy with the base and wanted to give it a little kick by adding some foliage and water puddles! I'm hoping it all comes together otherwise i've ruined my favourite piece 
I'll load up some WIP pics shortly for you to see how i'm getting on.
By the way, i'm all for a new Iron Man 1/4 maquette or premium format...however i dont think we'll see anymore Iron Man statues until we get Iron Man 3 out the way...then for sure Sideshow will have something up there sleeves

I still am amazed that they did the Legendary scale first before a PF. Oh well

Am i right in thinking that we'll never have an Iron Man PF? It will always be a maquette...right? I always though that Premium Format were pieces that included mixed media...as Iron Man is all metal would'nt that be a maquette?

I always watched out of these but they are so expensive on ebay. I really hope we get a Iron Man Pf soon
Not anymore. The PF Line can now include pieces without fabric etc.

i was trying to imply that Iron Man wouldnt need mixed media as he has no cape or jacket, trousers, etc...but as King B has just confirmed a PF doesnt necesarily mean mixed media...so we may yet see our first Iron Man PF in the next 6 months or so

I got what you meant. You mean he's full on metal in appearance in the film and comics. Surprised that would go over someone's head. Having said that the classic comic Iron Man piece has fabric and metal parts in it... and technically all SSC statues have metal in them.... the pegs in the feet.

I am surprised SSC let Koto get ahead of them on this though. The Koto Mark VII is only 1/6 and is PVC, but haing seen it I can say it looks awesome.
I'm dying for this maquette...
I doubt SSC could beat the dynamic pose of this one...
I hope I'm wrong! Another thing that bother me is the "ammo pack" like war mahine that have the Mark VIII, in the case that SSC make it I'll be very undecided...
