MARK 42 INBOUND!

“The prodigal son returns.”

Straight out of Tony Stark’s hall of armor, Sideshow and Legacy Effects are proud to present the Iron Man Mark 42 Life-Size Bust from Marvel’s hit film, Iron Man 3.

Created in tandem with the Hollywood special FX team responsible for all of the live-action suits in the Iron Man trilogy, we’ve captured every detail of the Mark 42 using the original molds developed for the film.

Measuring just over two feet tall, Stark’s latest ‘bouncing badass’ Iron Man armor is brought to life with a stunning high gloss paint application, and brilliant white LEDs to light his eyes and arc reactor.

From the man who builds neat stuff, has got a great girl, and occasionally saves the world, the Iron Man Mark 42 Life-Size Bust will be a must-have for your collection! As Tony Stark would say, “everybody needs a hobby.”

The Iron Man Mark 42 Life-Size Bust will be priced at $999.99 and have optional payment plans available. Pre-orders will begin this Thursday, January 30th with an official announcement in the weekly Sideshow Newsletter.

They aren't going to get that paint in the final product, people should let the hype down when anything new is shown.

Oh my god. My Mark III looks lame compared to that one. So much detail! I love Mark 42!

That is a thing of beauty!
Even though I hated the movie if the production piece comes close to that I will order.
After cancelling the LSB today I will never order an IM bust again before seeing in hand pictures.

Obviously. Doesn't change the fact that this looks amazing from the picture. What the real deal will be? We'll know in a year or two. :)

Indeed! Many of the best props and character designs come from bad-ish movies. :)
Definitely a good idea to wait. Just look at VII. Sigh...

they all do.

i love the look of this bust(which reminds of the HT bust), but its going to dwarf all the others.

now im rethinking my IP and MK7 preorders.

If it ends up looking like that, then it will be my irresponsible purchase of 2016 or whenever it actually comes out

This.

Their track record on Iron Man busts is just that - complete busts.

Would be a modern miracle if the production pieces looked like the proto pic.

I will wait for inhand pics as well. The price is fair if (and that is a big if) the actual bust comes close to the proto.

I honestly don't see them doing it. Especially replicating the brushed aluminum look, no freaken way.

It will be painted with the same drab and dull colours all their busts are. When the first in hand pics show up proving that's the case again this piece will sit "in stock" for years and years and years.

I don't know why they don't just use 3M wrapping for these busts. I know a guy that could wrap this bust to look EXACTLY like the proto for $200.

Completely agree. :goodpost:

So today the MK42 is officially released...somehow, due to Sideshows recent history of ****ing things up when it comes to Iron Man, I dont think too many are all going to go crazy and PO this one right away :lol

It's up for pre-order... And it's curious.... 0 pics with the ARC reactor turn off.....
They're going to put a sticky blue peg like Mark VII, mark my words...
