Out of interest, what are peoples thoughts on the gentle giant one? You all have that to thank for the decent price on this guy. I like the pose on the GG version. I like how the cannon (whatever it is) points skywards also.

I think it looks terrible. paint app looks flat, no light up at all and really clear base? I was never a huge GG fan other then there sucker punch line.

I had to close my laptop to stop my eyes from bleeding from the price. if they came in at 300 MAYBE because the pose is quite good.

While I applaud gg efforts I just don't think it is anywhere as good as sideshows for the same price. The flat paint doesn't look good.

The SSC version is also made by Legacy, who did the designs for the movies. So I am not surprised that it is the superior of the two.

All true, pose goes a long way though and GG really nailed it imo. They should add a light up feature at least to bring it more in line with the SS version. Patrix... please always helps

The GG IP piece does have light up repulsors. I linked to the BBTS order page below that mentions them. I also think the final piece will have a metallic paint app. All of the pics that I have seen are a CGI render of the piece with flat paint and not an actual prototype.

The GG IP pose is better than Sideshow's imo but that base is an absolute joke. I agree the paint looks flat on the GG IP, whereas their Igor piece looked stunning - with exception to another crappy base as well.

I think their bases are intentionally simple in contrast to sideshows which can be pretty decent at times but really bad also and not always to everybodys taste. That said I don't like the GG ones either, they look cheap. Solid black would have been a better choice I think. Also, the cannon was rarely seen on his left shoulder in the movie, he looks pretty predator...ish on the SS version so GG win that round also. While I won't be buying it I do like the GG version for its pose. The SS one deffo has the better pedigree being Legacy made and features, the light up features while always a failure risk along with said Legacy backing do make the SS version the best value at this time. GG may have to lower the price a notch after Sideshows little sideswipe...
