Re: Iron spider-man comiquette

For sure.

Spidey has a forward lean and still it seems like it will take a lot of depth from your shelf with the spider-arms.

If this piece doesn't get a second exclusive down the line for a symbiote outfit with a different base it will be a missed opportunity. Heck, the mask screams Scarlet Spider variant.

What?? There was no symbiote/black version of the Iron Spider-Man from Civil War??

There were the so called Scarlet Spider-Men that Tony made from 3 clones, but that's it.

Re: Iron spider-man comiquette

Don't know that I'll keep it, but I wanted to show my son as he got really excited when I told him that Iron Man built a suit for Spider-Man. So the concept successfully passes the six-year-old boy test and has been deemed a cool idea.

nice. I don't plan on even pre-ordering. I do like it thou.

The exclusive is very cool.

Re: Iron spider-man comiquette

Has this been confirmed either way whether it will go up tomorrow or whether it'll be saved for a PPO?

Not talking about the Civil War story but in general. Sideshow takes existing sculpts and makes variants down the road (Modern Thing, Negative Zone Spidey, Classic Spidey, etc.). This particular Iron Spider-Man sculpt lends itself to a cool Symbiote Spidey variant with a few alterations. I also see a possible Ben Reilly Scarlet Spidey sculpt that can be squeezed out of it with a few changes.

My biggest beef with this piece is the EX: Cap's shield is indestructible.

Yes, I hear ya. I once read a comic were Cap teamed up with Spiderman to go against Vermin. Both were strolling in leisure wear on a fair when Vermin hit the crowd, so they needed to get changed into their super hero spandex somewhere. They changed in a public toilet, and, all of a sudden, Captain America had his shield... Can someone tell me where he kept it all the while? In the pocket of his trousers perhaps... It's Marvel...stories...

The damage to the shield, as well as Iron Man's helmet, is symbolic in my opinion. I think that it represents the damage done to the superhero community (God just typing that makes me feel geeky) by the civil war in general, but also the damage done to each other and their friendship. As someone pointed out before Spidey kinda got caught in the middle of the two which is what make them appropriate to be on the base.

Re: Iron spider-man comiquette

The Cap. shield and IM helmet don't look to scale. They look a little small don't you think???
