So this is what's left to talk about in here, shelving. Anyone else just a wee bit concerned that we aren't talking about new pictures of this thing? Release dates? Etc. etc?

Kind of concerned myself but whatever I guess just keep waiting.

That's all we're doing too. Waiting until the next bit of official news is released.
Until then let's talk about shelfs. :)

I fear no measurements as I just built some big recessed shelves. 18 inches deep, 28 inches tall and 10 feet wide. Bring it on, Iron Studios Vader! :)

gotta need to come by one day.. dont care if I get invited or not :lol

Hmmmmm not a bad idea for shelves. I only fear the height due to my Prime 1 items. They are getting so large these days but I'll have to consider building a 20' wide shelf. My only concern is where to divide it vertically. It's a big commitment to do a shelf like that since it's an office/man cave where mine are but those 4 PAX I have will be full by Xmas. I've been trying to sell my 1/6 but some I want to keep.

Do you have a build thread for the shelf? I would need to go deeper though like 25" my Jabba scene is a hog.

I think I posted this image somewhere else but can't recall where. Anyway, you can make it as deep as you want and as tall as you want. I found this image online and while my build varies a bit, this gives you a pretty good idea how to do it. I did the same thing for my media room where the tv and shelves sit and they're a little deeper. I also have one that is 4 foot high by 3 feet deep for my life size Yoda. You can pretty much do whatever.

Ok cool. Doesn't look to bad. The covering looks to be a job though but if it's built well it should look seamless.

I'll be able to run wires through it by putting hold in the small pieces if I go with round lights but I'm happy with my current low profile led bars.

That will be down the road so right now I have so many huge pieces coming I'll see what I can rearrange and move. Should be fun lol thatnk the tool gods for nail guns. Definitely no droopy shelves with this. May consider this crazy pattern laminate for the flooring part where the bases will sit.

Yeah, the drywall over the shelving was definitely the worst part. You could cover it with something else, but since I was finishing the entire basement, it made sense just to drywall them. I got the lighting from yesusa.com or something like that. They were pretty cheap and each came with it's own transformer which made wiring a bit easier. I do wish I would've laminated the bottom where the statues sit as I've had some paint come off when I've had to move the statues around.

Ok I see about the drywal. Hmm there's a lot of options for sure. Maybe some faux wood laminate lol but there was one called Denali on clearance it was a crazy look but would look insane. It was a rubbery type not hard as a wood type. I redid my upstairs and had considered it until I thought about how thin it was

I explained this to my wife and like usual she say you're right I don't care lol I'm always like, I know you don't care but blah blah blah. Looks like I'll have to start planning. Just sucks the room will be a mess till it's done but I can build the frame downstairs and maybe finish it some but a tight turn may ruin that idea.

Found a photo it's like a rubber material. Not sure yet I'll have to consider it though. It's 12x24 so 2 rows is 24" deep that's good enough I think.
