For the price it looks super bad ass. Never thought $650 could get you all this.

Something SS should pay attention too.

Agreed. And although I wont ever display it with the batteries in it, I think all the lighting effects are very cool.

This is really my only disappointment with this statue at this point. I absolutely despise batteries in statues. These are not toys; a mains plug should be standard fare for high end display pieces like this. Anyway, hopefully the design will allow me to wire it myself without too much hassle...

I completely agree, I don't get how these statues continue to be designed to use batteries. They are displayed in such a way it is not easy to turn them on and by doing so we can easily break them. I wire everything and use Alexa to turn them on.

Plus, batteries corrode over time. And nobody wants leaking batteries in their statue. It make so much more sense to have a AC power supply, and they are dirt cheap.

Is there a guide somewhere on how to do this?

All you need is alex and smart plugs.. WEMO for example.

Take a multiplug.. and insert all your statues into that.. leave your statues turned on. That multiplug goes into the smart switch.. and the smart switch into your power socket. Now alex can control on or off you statues :) its pretty cool and I wish ALL statues would use an adapter and not Batteries only.

Yeah. Was more asking about how to take a statue using batteries and make it use an adapter...assuming that's possible. I have a WEMO at home so that part shouldn't be too hard.

You really don't ever have to worry about battery corrosion if you stick with top brands like Duracell or energizer. They will last years.

Not really.

I use brand names like those all the time in some LED night lights I have, and if I don't change them over when they start to get flat, they can leak like anything else.

I've had Energizer batteries corrode in my electronics before.

Then I did a quick search online and found this...

I wish it wasn't true, but both brands will leak, sad to say.

I've never had a Duracell or energizer leak. Of course if you google it you're going to come across scenarios that beg to differ. There's a reason energizer does the "no leak guarantee."

I think the point was that they do leak, from personal experience. We just don't take photos of it. What would be the point.

They do leak, they damaged a remote for my thermo-central unit, and the Duracell should have lasted 2 more years.
Use Eneloops instead.
