I am glad. I am starting to scale down my collecting, but third and forth quarters I have a lot. This year should be it for me buying a lot of pieces. Now for the most part just pick a few pieces a year.

I've cut back significantly myself.
Ran out of space years ago and not going to continue buying new pieces only to put them in storage.
I don't want to part with any of my current pieces either. Not at the moment, at least. :)

I'm in the same boat. I have a few pieces coming and a couple of special projects that I have been working on for some time. I suspect to be done this time next year. Maybe a piece here or there, but right now I'm concentrating on building my display area.

Make's so upset so many great pieces getting made these days not like was 10 years ago, or 5 years ago. Just cost so much these days then throw in what's going on with shipping.
I did pick up this Darth Vader and going to get SSC Bespin Luke. Yes not a great piece but when would we get another 1/4
Bespin Luke, and with fabric.

I feel my collecting is about complete now as well. I'm just out of room. I very much want, & need, to build a display room. But yeah, I think the pieces I have "out there" waiting to come in, is about it for me. Especially for the statues & figures. The last 2 years I've found myself concentrating more on prop building, & I've enjoyed that more.

I can fit about 75 statues right now. I only have 20 lol actually I'm not sure but my new shelf holds all I have and then my 4 huge PAX will be empty. I want to make one all Vader but he's gotta go on the new shelf I built. Just some wiring and it's done.

Statues I have coming that I am keeping

IS Darth Vader
Voltron maquette
Serpentor
P1 Storm
P1 Snake
thinking of getting Darth Maul pf
I would get a Star Wars Pf when Sideshow makes one I want
I would get a IS Star Wars statue 1/4 when they make one I want.
I have owned 150 to 200 statues in 11 years and keeping about 10 that I own now, then the others I listed.
Then pick up a P1 Robotech when they show up and a I.A. TF when they show up.

The only statue I have waiting to come in is this IS Darth Vader. Once I get my collection room finished, IF that frees up enough room, I'll probably see about getting the R2 & 3P0 PFs.

You may want to wait on the most recent edition of R2D2 and C3PO PF. I got them and I was not really impressed with them. I think they are quite expensive for what you get.

Agreed but thats like expecting the Man of plastic er.. Steel to be priced accordingly. Just like R2 it looks good(except the face) but it made cheap and costs a lot new.

I said this before somewhere, I was able to get both brand new from Golden Compass for like $630 shipped. Not bad really.

I think R2 will always be plastic so they can get all the electronics in easier and so he moves. If the pose was right I would not care if he didn't move. I don't know about the rest of you but I place the statue, adjust whatever moves and it sits.

Adtionally I loved the C3PO. To me it was neat that he moves a little and the detail I found really nice. Granted he can be a bit fragile so he too I would be fine if made in PS is a permanent pose. Not like he has many lol

I actually like them both a lot. Again this is just my thoughts. I love them on my shelf and they look fantastic. How they are made and priced doesn't make them look bad but it can be annoying and rude.

I really like the C3PO and R2D2 version on Tatooine sand common base, it's uncommon to have statues sharing a base and it makes so much sense for the 2 folks, highly recommended. I plan to have them next to their once master, IS Vader.

I love everything Tatooine. I will always go with that version if given a choice.

Regarding the plastic R2D2....Do you feel better paying more money for polystone? Is a brittle, more breakable material the better bang for your buck?

Polystone is more expensive then plastic so it would at least justify the price a bit more... For SS to charge what they did for hollow plastic body was a complete rip-off... They knew people would want a 1/4 scale R2-D2 so they marked it up as high as they thought they could get away with.

Since they went with plastic and considering the asking price they at least could have made the dome diecast. That R2 is a huge ripoff for what it is.

I agree. R2 seriously feels like a toy with a bit of weathering. I know it's designed to sit on a shelf, but when I'm paying that much, I want it to FEEL like a premium item. I like mine, but I can never escape the feeling that they are charging WAY too much for the end product they are delivering. With the rise in prices in recent years, I feel that way about most of their stuff these days, but this piece in particular just seems to epitomize the trend, IMO. After this Vader, I'm probably going to move away from collecting statues and figures unless something comes along that absolutely blows me away.

The duo was a must have for me and when I held R2 I was not impressed and thought it was a total cash grad since you wouldn't just buy 3po. I actually thought of other options finding a model or toy version to go along side 3po before I picked them both up but that in the long run would've drove me nuts and think SS knows that. Hence them redoing the duo in Mellenium falcon base, they knew people would still buy and make big profit off R2. But if I can get my hands on the IS Vader I'll be happy, it looks amazing, just waiting for in hand photos.

Somebody ought to start a thread for the R2 and 3PO PF.

With the dearth of new information or pics, along with the delay, I guess a derail was bound to happen.
