Let us know the SS answer.Probably they going to say that you're the 1st inquiring a RMA for this product.:cuckoo:

Of course, everyone is always the first, no matter what, that way you just feel unlucky, rather then it having confirmed there's a whole bad batch going out.

Compare that to Weta at the moment with the Smaug issue. As soon as a few started showing up with the same problem, they put a halt on all shipping and even publically posted the number of statues (at that time) with the problem.

I just sent an email to Alter Ego this morning. I've been holding off on this, but every time I get close to the Maquette, the crooked mouth drives me insane. Can't hold off any longer, so I'm waiting on Sideshow to confirm with Alter Ego, and hopefully get a replacement without the crooked mouth, and a good paint job. I'm really blown away by this statue, and I'm hoping it works out.

yup got the crooked mouth too. It hurts doesn't it. Up close is not fun.:monkey2

SideShow will start sending a free lunch bag for the inconvenience about the paint app.:yess:

The question is, how can this monstrous paint job get past quality control on a $500 statue?

None of them are.So you're lucky,probably you got the SideShow's prototype.:dunno

That would be cool if true but its not so I just got one of many I'm sure that are fine. What you see on the boards is a small compact view of things either way.

Just want to know, what SS will do with all the returns.Good chance they will probably repack them and sell as new.

There's no chance in hell SS does this. Not even a remote chance.

Sideshow doesn't operate that way. They just don't they have one of the best CS departments in the business. They will be aware of the situation no doubts about it.

Thats because it the whole freaking amount of items they made. No choice at all that this is gonna happen with every single one of them. With the Iron Man pieces it most likely is just a small batch with this.

Do you stop everyone of them from going out and check all 2800 of them? The logistics of that just don't work.

One would hope they are well aware of it by now, but people have already experienced being told by CS that theirs was the first time any such problem had been reported and yet, others had already posted about contacting SS about the same issue, so it wasn't the first time they had heard about it.

I even experienced it myself, with the stains on the white dress of the original Leia PF.
I had seen 4 others at the time with the same problem and knew that someone else asked about it recently as well. The reply I got, 'this is the first time we have ever heard of such an issue.'
So basically telling me it was a one off, I just got very unlucky. Well, no I didn't.
So I don't know what it is, either bad internal communication or a basic standard policy and email that any complaint is always the first, but it does happen.

Now sure, the rest of the CS options all kick in and are great, return, refund, etc, etc, but as to what I first said, that still holds true, you will be told your the first, even if your not.

I'm sure they are. People saying that where probably the first one to call most likely. Of course you may have a CS person or two that have not heard it themselves. That can happen even if its well known by others.

CS folks do make mistakes as they're human.

Josh, every time Sideshow makes a MAJOR screw up like this, why do you always come running to their defense?

You keep saying this is probably a small number that got a bad paint application, yet there have been plenty of examples of unacceptable paint on these that left with a QC stamp of approval stuck to the side. It's not like this is the first time that this sort of thing has happened.

I hope to know what the plan is, if there even is a plan, on how Sideshow plans to remedy the situation.

I've experienced this before. It was on the paint that was flaking on Sabretooth LSB. I know other people had posted that they had already called to report it days earlier, but when I called I was told that my concern was the first time they heard about it. I think CS is probably trained to answer that way so they can keep the situation calm and prevent a panic.

Because most of you overreact so badly its not even funny. I'm just pointing out that you all need to take a deep breath and stop tossing out accusations or something similar. Post your pics, send your stuff in, and stay on top of it.

Is there really a need to constantly _____ about it? Talk about how horrible the overall piece is or how its a fail. A few pieces doesn't make that true. There have been several pieces show up that are quite good (mine included) and you've got a few IMO that are seeing faults cause everyone is saying something is there.

Do you have proof its a large number? Outside of say 8-10 on this board and maybe another 10 or so outside of this. Thats not a large number of 2800 pieces. Hell, it could get to be 100 pieces and thats still a not a large number.

Many of you blow up things that happen on this board to be this is how it is everyplace. Thats just not the fact. The same goes with how many of you say this is how SS should do this, how they are, etc. Its mostly speaking out of wanting to sound smart or thinking you're smart.

Now, should this situation have happened? No, it shouldn't have it sucks for those that got a bad one. Its just that like I said some folks blow things way to over the top or start tossing out things that just aren't true.

I don't mind stepping in and saying thats BS. If that makes me (insert your favorite term) then thats ok. I truly don't care nor mind honestly. The only ones that I care about in that regard are my actual friends from the board and the folks at SS.

Let's be honest. Both parties are working from assumptions. Neither the detractors nor the supporters can show conclusively how widespread this problem is.

That said, looking at the evidence before us, there have been more pieces with problems relative to those without.

This is a fact. Whether or not this is more widespread is debatable.

Josh, people are upset because this is not a cheap statue. However, I agree that what needs to be said has been said and adding to it doesn't help.

All parties affected should just see how the replacements turn out before making summary judegement.

Just my 2 cents.

How long does it normally take for SS CS to reply to an email? It's just that I emailed them 2 days ago and I still havn't heard from them, not even an acknowledgement email to say that they even recieved my email and that they will look into my situation!! :dunno :impatient:
