we agree on all!

Spider-Man is a no-brainer for me. Color, no color, whatever, he's mine.

I know many people want these in color, but being bronze, aside from the color of the bronze the statues have that rough bronze finish. I imagine these would look awkward if colored without having some of their finishes smoothed out first.

They are aiming for the more mature market. A piece that looks like this can look fitting in a powerful executive or a law office, without looking childish. It is somewhat reminiscent of the Remington bronze sculptures. It is meant to be a more subdued appearance.
It is something different for another aspect of the market. I will bet that there have been people asking for something like this. I might be tempted to get one. I would if I had the money for it as well as other things I want. It's classy and distinguished.

I second this one heavily.
Different style, completely. Much more mature, don't hate me but I often don't like the 'cartoonish' style of many statues. This one is stylish but raw at the same time, Iron Man in particular has that deco design that really reminds of some of the best pieces of art (imho). It's something that could fit the Rockafeller Center :D

Anyone has an idea of the size of this Sideshow line? And price, too. Bronze seems to be ******in expensive.

Wolvie was $299 . . . don't see why this would be any different . . . and the scale seems to be between 1/4 & 1/5

Fellas, I hate hate HATE being the bearer of bad news. So forgive me. But these are statues of comic book characters, designed to be entertaining to 12 year old boys. If you are too "mature" for a painted statue of a comic book superhero, then chances are you are too "mature" for any statue of a comic book superhero.

Bronze is more widely acceptable in a professional atmosphere . . . also most of my comic and movie statues are confined to my office and movie room . . a bronze might make its way into the main part of the house . . . it has a more elegant look to it . . .

again this is all subjective . . . art is art

I realize that Superhero statues cater to one's childhood memories, but one can have a more subdued representation that would more befit a professional setting without looking out of place. With the bronze look, it doesn't jump out at people with bright colors and say cartoon character. If it was an animation studio or an art studio, a color statue would be fitting, but if you are a comic fan who wants an Iron man statue in your office, yet does not want to make too prominent a statement to OTHERS about your love for Iron Man, a bronze finish is appropriate.
It is a compromise made to blend in better with certain settings where it would seem out of place. Ie it is a comic character statue that can be displayed where NON comic book fans can see it and interpret it as fine art more than a sign of possible blatant immaturity.

Frankly, I think the pieces look nice and classy, and is simply another version of Iron Man for those who like this style. This is more than just an alternate paint job of faux bronze, as it is a different style of sculpt as well as the color.
Considering how many Iron Man, Spider Man and Wolverine a statues there have already been, I don't see what there is to complain about.
Aren't there pretty much enough full color ones already? How many do you want in a certain size?
Are people really jonesing hard for ANOTHER Spider man, Wolverine or Iron man statue in full color?

Not mad at your opinion, but as a comic reader in his late 20s I can say much of what's out there isn't for 12 year old boys. There's issues of Amazing Spider-Man in recent years I wouldn't give to a 12 year old. I get the nostalgia factor for many, but today's comics are mainly marketed to adult males, and that's mostly who frequents the shops. All the sex and violence is no good for the youngins.

I think the main point was that bronze looks more like what you'd see in a museum or exhibit as opposed to colorful polystone. Sort of a prestigious look to it.

I like the way they look together despite not seeming scaled to each other. I could put these in a library between books. Big books. Like old world atlases, encyclopedias, and books with spells in them. Or oversized Alan Moore hardcovers. That's the kind of vibe I get.

Looks great imo. Not planning on collecting this line because of lack of space, but I might buy Spider-Man. (Who am I kidding. I will def buy Spidey.)

i will buy this because of the good sculpt, but if after buying it, they release the same statue in painted version...i will be very very mad.

Considering it has such a rough texture, I doubt it. However they might make a tinted bronze one.
