lols :lol can you imagine how bitter those chinese factory workers must have been to have to deal with thousands of little american flags for our iron man statues :lol

Can you just see rows and rows of these flags and the Chinese workers :flag
I am surprised we dont have sabatage going on in these factories with all these flags! :mwaha

By your argument, Captain America's whole costume is redundant. He already has "America" in his name, why on earth would he need his costume to be modeled after the American Flag..:google:rolleyes:

You international people need to give your little nationalistic egos a rest and take this piece for what it is.
I'm so glad that you have brought this up Nash! Captain America was cool as a reaction to the Nazi horrors of WWII, but that lies more than 60 years behind us now. I know that there are still too many racist nazi idiots around, but luckily the awareness has changed in a way that other nations than America have realized they need to act.
There's still a lot of work on that front: yesterday started the World Conference against Racism, and not everybody that should have been there was actually present. So much for "little nationalistic egos"... . https://www.un.org/WCAR/

Comics are comics!!!

Not real but an escape from reality!
Thats why I read them! What about you?

Have to hand it to SS.......they must've figured that adding that flag was going to do exactly what is taking place.....:mwaha:mwaha:mwaha:mwaha:mwaha

Well, I'll keep my Chocolate Chip Cookies handy just incase my flag comes soaked in Milk.

I'm giving my CIM a huge ass RED flag and calling him BIG RED....and he'll have nothing to do with Hellboy.

Hey...where the heck is my Captain Jakarta....

Yay for Comic Books and Superhero Statues.

If Texas ever did secede, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Jake, my mother and step-father own 38 acres in Kountze, TX with the full on horse stables (8 horses included), cows (back pasture), goats, geese, ducks, chickens, two stocked ponds, cottonmouth filled woods, and the closest grocery store is 30 minutes away. My step-father is also an avid hunter and has a gun and bow collection as well as a Texas/Cowboys themed entertainment room. If Texas ever goes to secede, I will give you their phone number so you can go be the son to them that I had no interest in being. :D

Sure, I like the stories and the genious of the characters and development of relationships and the obstacles that must be overcome.

But if you are trying to escape from reality the post I quoted above doesnt belong here.

Also your escape and that post above has nothing to do with flags or costumes that represent a character.

In truth there is no escape from reality, the stories mimic real life situations in one way or another on a global scale.....You are reading someone elses reality.

I see no reason that someone cant make an Avengers flag! In fact I think it would easy to change out!

Someone can make some money here! Hint, hint! :naughty

WOW, I agree with Nash on something... :horror :lol

No more...

It was conceptual work on a diorama that obviously never saw the light of day.....I don't even recall by whom.....

Ha ha, Wolverine vs Hulk, I was thinking about making a litho about this this weekend but other stuff came up. Paintings take so dam long and I'm a perfectionist though, I have get my lazy butt to do this someday, maybe next next week after I get back from vacation.

scratch retaliation.

Well I'm Canadian and i'd still like to own this statue.

I think it's a great looking piece personally, don't see a need to let something like politics get in the way of my enjoyment for it.

Yeah, so he's a patriot and he's holding the flag. What's the big deal? :dunno

Flag or no flag, the pose is boring, not at all dynamic. And if I lived outside of the US, I probably wouldn't pick it up even if I did like it, which I don't.

It's different than Cap America, whose US symbolism is part of his costume. When was the last time you saw Tony Stark holding a flag like this? It just doesn't seem to be the norm and is very out of place.

Plus, the flag/polystone mix isn't working for me at all. Like I said, looks tacky. The flag doesn't look tacky, but it being displayed on a statue like this looks tacky and cheap and gimmicky without a purpose.
