Hey Eske!! First off, amazing job on the pilots! The leggings with the boots look great man.

And for Admiral Ackbar, the head on the right looks like the better option. Is that the Hasbro one? The one with the yellow eyes? It looks great so far! The cool thing is, is that the Calamari usually roll 3 or 4 deep so you can turn the other one into an officer!

Uh yes, that?s the problem... but I?m actually looking for other options for a 1/6 true scale rancor. at least a head and a hand for now. I?ll get them 3D printed.
I think the SSC one would look fantastic, but the price in Europe is insane. If I thought it was the perfect rancor I would maybe go for it anyways, but there?s something about it that is a bit off when comparing to Jabbas Rancor. It?s quite clean, upright and a bit troll like... but maybe it?s just me trying to not fall in love with it. If I was in the US I would go for it.
For now he?ll have a miniature pet - I have miniature ships with other figures.

Actually, I agree with you about it being a bit too clean, etc. when you see the pictures from the actual puppet, he/it seemed far more “imperfect” and grotesque.

Yes, that?s exactly how I feel. It looks like ?cgi? and not a puppet. Like LOTR, not OT SW. ...but it still is an amazing piece if only it was cheaper.

Haha - we need a Rancor Keeper virtual get-together.

Mine was stuck in purgatory for years because I thought I'd have to sculpt the belly/body (and the weapon is also a total pain to scratch build) but then that new body came out. As soon as I'm done with Amanaman, Lando Skiff and Ugnaught I'll jumping to finally finish Rancor Keeper. he's been in the doghouse for like 5 years.

I love how I'm not the only one who saw that big body and went "rancor keeper"!

That body is almost an exact replica of the rancor keeper!
Since I have two Tusken raiders and one has the rifle I almost have the right weapon. Though I?m a bit hesitant cutting off the tip to make it fully accurate, but I might do it at some point...

I'm just using a torn apart Hasbro one. The end looks kinda like a two pronged shovel. I almost finished it before I abandoned the custom a few years ago.

And all the body needs is some fur flocking.

Looks awesome. The pants color is interesting - I got tan-brown and pale green (hard to find hugely billowing pants too) Hasbro made them brown but I think I like green because of the old Hasbro fig and the ref pics are inconclusive - could be either.

What did you use for the headdress? Looks nice. I made one many years ago but not sure it passes muster today.
