Talibane, tremendous job man. And yes, we do need a virtual hookup for all of our Malakili's!.

Grievous, somebody was just asking me about making a 1/6 scale Rancor. I'm kicking around the idea but it seems a little insane. Lol! He would be as big as a medium sized dog.

i would not have the space for him any ways. heck i`m trying to find a space for my wampa. but the rancor keeper would be easier to display.

That one is till mine though ;-) don?t think Tali has finished his yet.
Who was it that makes the head for the other keeper? You?re making him, right?

I'm just using a torn apart Hasbro one. The end looks kinda like a two pronged shovel. I almost finished it before I abandoned the custom a few years ago.

And all the body needs is some fur flocking.:rotfl

Looks awesome. The pants color is interesting - I got tan-brown and pale green (hard to find hugely billowing pants too) Hasbro made them brown but I think I like green because of the old Hasbro fig and the ref pics are inconclusive - could be either.

What did you use for the headdress? Looks nice. I made one many years ago but not sure it passes muster today.

Did Hasbro make the actual weapon or did you mod the Tusken one?
In all my references, where you see the pants lit up, they look green. Dirty, but green.
I primarily remember Malakili from the Kenner figure, so whenever I was in doubt I chose to do it like that. For instance the headdress sits low in the movie, but further up in reference photos - so I chose up because that?s how it looked on the old figure. I also made the patches with the Kenner as reference.
I used thin real leather for the headdress.

Awesome job on that Rancor Keeper.

Add me to the list of people who picked up that same body for a future Rancor Keeper custom. I still need to pick up a sculpt and source the outfit, but getting that body when it first came out was a must!

Just catching up here. Great looking customs. I would go with a repaint on the Hasbro head. I did see some one using replacement eyes for the Hasbro.

That soft urethane-ish type stuff you have been using for your big custom figs like Hermi is the way to go with the 1/6 Rancor. Size is an issue but weight is the killer for a custom Rancor. If someone could create a 1/6 Rancor that could be shipped as legs/feet, arms, hands, head and body, and have it weigh something reasonable, that would be awesome. Otherwise you've got a massive box that also weighs 35 lbs.

Lighter material also opens the possibility of articulation. Heavy solid resin arms won't really be poseable easily - just too heavy to hold the pose

Yeah not sure why Hasbro did brown pants on their latest Rancor Keeper fig. I think I used the body of the Hasbro Tusken weapon then scratch built the blade area. I will have to pull my Rancor keeper out to take a look.

The headdress I made many years ago when I didn't have much in the way of custom skills, so I may just remake it. Really had no idea what I was doing.

Here's some progress on my Tessek! Ignore the broken tentacles, paint jobs, and rubber bands. This was mainly to see how the clothes would interact with the chest piece. The v-neck on the white man jammies will be bigger like the actual costume, even if this picture doesn't reflect that. I'm proud so far! 0-1.jpeg

Looking good. Definitely looking forward to adding him to the Jabba display ? though I doubt I?ll be able to replicate the outfit as good as you.

Thank you! I?ll be doing kits- head, hands, chest piece, and clothes (no body, no boots) if you?re interested.

Looking good Cagoda. I've always liked that costume design. Looks like you are well on your way to nailing it!

Thanks everybody, I really appreciate it! I will post more pics when I have some good updates!

Looking greAt!
I just bought myself a resin printer. ...I have no idea how to use it really, but I guess I?ll learn.
I?d love to find something 1/6 Star Wars related... anyone know where I can buy/get some files to try out?
