SOD - that Hermi Odle is looking awesome. Never thought that I'd get to see him in glorious 1/6 scale!

Can't wait to see the finished version.

I did some more work on my Tessek last night, sculpted the hands! I'll be able to cast the head and hands sometime soon if anyone is interested! 0-5.jpeg

I need those hands... like last month. Get a cast of those in the mail to me immediately!:lecture:lol

Seriously - when will those hands be available?

Hopefully I’ll be able to make a mold within a week or two when I’m back in town and then I can cast and ship away! Thank you so much! I’ll definitely keep everyone who wants a set updated!
Generalgrievous I PM’ed you back but I have you on the list too! :)

Stryker2011 I think the body used is a spare HT Ben Kenobi but switched the head peg out with HT’s bank robber Joker.

I have a ton of texturing and refining to do, but here's where my progress is at right now on my Ree-Yees sculpt. The back set of antenna things are only temporary because I'll need them to be removable for molding/casting purposes.

Not looking forward to the tedious stuff left to do on this one.

That’s freaking awesome!! Did you do the initial sculpting with digital 3D, printed it out then are refining details the good old fashioned way? Are you planning on making sets for sale? That’s so cool!!

Yeah, drop-dead gorgeous work there ajp.:clap It's great to see Ree Yees finally getting the love. He was always in my top five SW creatures of all time - up there with Greedo and Bossk.:yess:

The Ree Yees mask was originally intended for use as Admiral Ackbar (until GL chose the other design) so it's a very sophisticated design that had a ton of articulation in the eyes and mouth that isn't all that visible onscreen. It would have made a great Ackbar too.

Thanks for the support! :duff

The sculpt is entirely clay, and started completely from scratch. No 3D printing involved at all; just pure old-school sculpting. As far as making sets available, I'd be glad to do that if the molding & casting goes smoothly. If I can make an error-free mold, and the castings come out clean, I could do a few sets with a head and a pair of hands. It'll probably take me two weeks or so to finish the head, make the hands, and try the molding/casting. I'll update my progress here. Then, hopefully, onto the costume.

Thank you very much, TaliBane! :duff

Outside of Jabba himself, Ree-Yees is my favorite alien/creature from the palace and barge scenes. A lot of that has to do with the Kenner figure that was easily one of my favorites as a kid. In fact, because of my nostalgia for that old figure, I'm going to try making a 1/6 version of that weapon that came with it. I'd love to eventually pose this custom next to my old 3.75" Kenner fig, both with their weapons, and take some pics.

The articulation in the prop mask is awesome, but it makes this sculpt a little tougher. :lol The changes in the mouth, and in the protrusion level of the collar area, make for the type of inconsistencies in reference photos that drive me nuts. But one feature that I love about the Ree-Yees mask is the asymmetry in so many areas. I actually prefer that.
