Super Freak
Agree with all above - looks great!
Progress on the Ree-Yees has been painfully slow. As I expected, getting a decent casting of this head has been a nightmare. I've had to trash so many that I'm starting to have a pile that looks like some kind of mass graveyard back on his planet. The ears were such a consistent problem that I've had to resort to casting them separately and then just gluing them on. Going to do something similar with the missing pair of antennae too.
Anyway, I used one of the better reject castings to start figuring out a paint scheme (in order to change things up from just pouring resin over and over again). Below is painting trial #1. Nothing fancy, and very little detailing (this is just a testing phase); but I came up with a 3-color layering pattern for the flesh tone that I think will work pretty decently.

It's taking forever, but I'm getting closer to figuring out how to make this all work (I hope ) for a few sets of head & hands. And then I can move on to more nightmares with making the costume.
That's looking freakin' superb. Ree Yees getting the five star treatment.
I recently noticed a pic in the making of ROTJ book where it was clear they made at least three full Ree Yees heads (I assume they were intended to be Ackbar's "officers" before they switched to the crustacean-look Ackbar we know) so having many Ree Yees heads laying around is probably accurate to what they had going back in 1983. Ree Yeezy as Kanye might say.
Well OMG.... there it is.... Amanaman!!! Glorious Amanaman!!! All hail... Amanaman!!!
This is an epic build.
Feet look great too.
I decided to start working on the costume for Ree-Yees. Got farther than I expected to, but still needs plenty of adjustments and a few details (kneepads, belt accent, fasteners, etc.). This is still the same messed-up head with simple paint job from before. And the hands seen here are also very messed up from a bad first mold (still need to do a second one). I'll paint up a better head and pair of hands before my next update, but at least this finally shows more of what the figure will end up looking like. And I'm glad to have something else to do with the cups that came with the Sideshow R2-D2.
