Scumrebels bashed the living hell out of Anakin. Now they have moved back on to Mace. Up next I bet is gonna be Kit Fisto and his love tentacles.

:chew :emperor "Dance Chewy, Dance!"

Yeah, I'm sure that this is going to continue for a while.... that is until we actually see the figures in person and some of this madness calms down.

I actually think that this whole situation has outshone Luke as far as negative buzz has been concerned...:monkey2

"The Dark Side of the Force clouds everything....." :lol

You can't make most of them happy. They are the bitchiest bunch of fans I've ever seen. Lots of good ones but lots of really annoying ones as well.

I don't like it when people only recognize two categories of Sideshow collectors--bashers and buttkissers. We need to be able to discuss our thoughts without creating a frenzy of negativity, and we need to be able to say we like something without being called a brown noser...

Yeah, me too Tom... I find myself somewhere in the middle... I get upset about some things, bad paint apps and such, but I still give praise to SSC for their hard work and dedication.. So I get bunched into whatever category I'm agreeing with at the time...:monkey2

And yes Josh... Star Wars fans... most of us can be bitchy and touchy about things, and many....many of them can be the most annoying people on the planet. We have a good bit of cool people, but they are not really in the majority when it comes to the SW fans...

Sad but true.

I'm with ya there are many shades of collectors. I know being lumped into the brown nosers gets old because I feel a certain way. I've never had issues with someone who says they dont like something if it can be worded constructivley like you do Tom and lots of others.

I'm a fan of SW so I hope nobody thinks I'm an outsider looking in to make fun. There are so many cool SW fans and I love interacting with them and I agree the bitchy ones are a minority but boy do they get annoying.

I just say how I feel and I have no problem reading other people's negative or positive comments. I have never felt the need to say "stop complaining" or "stop praising". Shouldn't we all have freedom of speech?

For Anakin, I might comment negatively on his lips and eyes, but that is where I feel Sideshow should look at for improving future figures to prevent it from happening again.

I think the sculpt itself is FANTASTIC and Andy did a wonderful job. I also think the clothing and the arm look great and I can't wait to see them in person.

So even though I post 'complaints', I see them as areas to improve upon and can certainly still enjoy the good points of the figures. I just want to help Sideshow see where they can get even better.

I agree; the whole negativity issue needs to chill. I like going to rebelscum and have lots of fun there, but there are times when the venom is intolerable. Much as I love the site and like talking with certain members, there is a lot of malice there that fortunately I haven't seen here.

Being negative isn't a problem, it's the relentless negativity that is. When people are typing multiple 1000 word paragraphs of hate towards a collectible, a collectible that is the best one of it's kind mind you, they have issues. And bitching about a product that you can't really judge because it's not in your hands just makes you look like a fool. Then when it dies down, the circle comes back around.

Photoshop edited pictures of three diminsional objects are just too funny. That was a impressive ability, back in 1994. Now days, any monkey can manipulate a picture.

Lets see a actual sculpt. Lets see you paint that sculpt. Lets see you sculpt, design and make a super articulated body. Lets see you sculpt and cast the accessories. Lets see you pic the right materials that are thin and will lay right on the body. Lets see you cut and sew those cloths.

Nothing is perfect. Nothing ever will be perfect. Some things are dead on hits, some slight misses and others may be out in left field.

In the end, it's only money and money is made to be spent!!!!

You could replace "Sideshow" in that quote with almost any product that has ever been discussed on a message board, and you'd pretty much sum up the major downside of the things.

People typically don't rant (or rave) on message boards in the interest of building consensus or having a discussion. They do it because they honestly think that this will be the time that everyone else will see the light, and when they find out that there's still someone who doesn't agree, then that person *clearly* must be an irrational die-hard for the other side, and thus a "buttkisser" or "basher".

Happens in Star Wars product forums, computer forums, music forums, etc. etc. etc.

kind of strange....i always wondered how some people can just complain and complain over something like a $50 toy. It's pretty crazy to me... I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion...so say your few words and leave it at that. I seriously wonder how old some people are on the forums at times.

Makes me wonder as well, how the hell did they all live through the Hasbro days? I cant imagine the amount of complaining to a product as inferior as that! It's amazing to me that they still love Star wars!

This board is just like that 1... but only with the opposite view.

There's been several (aka more than TWO) times where i've tried
to constructively state my dislikes of Jedi Luke, only to get a
sideshow freaks board mob come down on my opinions.

I even started the posts with disclaimers like:
"before I begin, I LOVE sideshow!"... which didn't work a lick.

This board is just as criticized in the 1/6 world as you guys are
doing to RS now.

Oh well, guess we need a ying / yang board thing when it comes
to sideshow. Can't we all just get along & bash / love equally?

Those are my thoughts more or less. I think everyone has the right to their opinion be it negative or positive, but it does get tiring reading the same complaints over and over about something we don't even have yet. It's fine if there are negative comments, but I think the Chicken Little Syndrome gets people worked up needlessly.

A very perceptive insight into the human mind.

This is the way it seems to work to me.

1. Someone makes a constructive complaint, however that constructive complaint has been repeated ad nauseum and people who don't find the problem to be that huge get annoyed and start basically telling the person to shut they're yap.

2. That person then responds in kind telling the other person to shut up as well. Generally by this point the original criticizer is mad about being told to pipe down and the defender is mad that the debate continues.

3. Other people begin picking sides and throwing in their two cents and it turns into an all out melee a la Jerry Springer. Next thing we know posts are being edited, deleted, and thread are being locked.

I've noticed that, too. There are those who aren't content to just wear rose colored glasses when it concerns SS, but feel the need to flame anyone who doesn't wear them as well.

Yup. It can start with a valid observation but at some point it becomes a grudge match, each side complaining about the other.
