My point is that it was "concept art" and even marked as such and most thought that it is exactly what we'd be getting.

We get that. But why show us that and change it entirely? Specially when the concept art is closer to the original. Its like if they would have shown us the awesome concept picture of the Storm Shadow that we got, but intead given us a figure of the ROC one. It was a kick in the balls.
Come on Nam, admitted, you thought we were getting the concept art one, we all did.

Never said I didn't. And I was also vocal about my disappointment. But rather than get all tittybaby about it, I looked at it and figured a way to make what we are getting, work. I recall, despite most saying it would, even stating that camouflaging the head wouldn't fix things and it didn't. It's awesome that Sideshow even considered that, but with the camo pattern being so vastly different, the camo head in those same colors, does nothing to make it "more" firefly than it looked without, and arguably even less so.

Easier to manufacturer, I think they took the easy way out.

Not really. Most of the Fireflys I've seen, while awesome, were basically kitbashes with the only serious work being the backpack and painting the balaclava. There's no doubt that a LOT of work went into Sideshow's Ice Vi--- Firefly, despite how he looks.

Which, IMHO, is much better than the camo one. To each their own.

But I agree with them not wanting to show it, assuming they weren't bending the truth a bit, until they were certain it could be replicated by the factory. One color balaclava > horribly painted camo baclava.

Im actually with you on that. Though admittingly I was one of the "we want a painted camo head" guy. I thought SS could pull it off, but ultimately I was dissapointed. Imo, it has to do alot with the colors SS chose to use on the camo. The off white just throws it all off.

I usually do that. I'm not one to "chicken little" a release, but FF was one of my favorite figures, along with Snake Eyes, and had high expectations. Specially after getting Storm Shadow and the Cobra Troopers.

Yeah, they did pull it off. That camo balaclava is awesome. But it's the color scheme that throws it for a loop.

Unclechopchop's custom shows how awesome FF can look with a hooded jacket. Hopefully in hand pics of SSC's FF won't be too far off.

IMHO, still far too light. Don't get me wrong, it looks great and the detail is just awesome, but the color scheme is off - which makes the figure less Firefly, more urban commando.

ho-lee crap, that ff looks freaking awesome. love the weathered, lived-in look. wow.

my issues with ss's ff weren't about the jacket but rather its lack of a camo head (which is a non-issue now.
