Well dont your breath for a 1/6 Zartan at SDCC...the boring statue is in its place...look for another character..and it wont be Destro either

:lol I agree we probably won't see a new 12" Fig.. but we'll see the dio or something.

Well, as Teemu alluded to, they confirmed in yesterday's Ask Sideshow that Zartan won't be shown for a while, but the Flint vs. Zartan dio would be showed this month.

"Q: You recently showed us a sneak peek of the head sculpt of the upcoming 12-inch Zartan figure. It looks great by the way, but it does bring two questions to mind: 1) How will Sideshow be handling his and other character’s exposed chest/abs? Destro and Gung Ho also suffer from having large amounts of their chests visible and that would seem to be a bit against Sideshow’s slightly realistic take on the GI Joe line. I mean, why wear chest armor and leave your six-pack exposed? 2) Will Sideshow attempt to recreate the infamous color-changing plastic of the original Zartan? Original Zartan figures still turn blue to this day and never seemed to suffer from mis-coloring like the recent 25th Anniversary line’s Zartan did. It certainly isn’t a deal breaker if the Master of Disguise doesn’t turn blue in the sun, but it would definitely make a nice addition to him!

A: Good questions – and those have been hot topics amongst the designers. Ultimately, we’ve decided to give Zartan a bit more armor and equipment, so he won’t be quite as exposed as the original figure designs. Look to our Zartan VS Flint diorama (to be announced sometime in July 2010) for a good idea of how we’re likely to interpret the character in 12-inch. Destro and Gung Ho will likely be handled in similar fashion, although both will make use of a new, beefier body. We have hopes of capturing Zartan’s color change feature in the new figure, but we still have a ways to go in R&D exploration before we can make any promises. The perma-stain green/blue coloration is something we want to avoid.

It seems like Sideshow will be messing with Zartan even more than they did with Firefly. Prepare for the potential _____storm of hate.

Man o man, if there is no Joe at SDCC...

I was hoping for 2, peaks, now we will be lucky with one??

Yeah, those will be a while. I'm still quite sure we'll see something 1:6th wise during the Con.

Since we all thought it was going to be Zartan, I wonder who it would be??

Maybe a black ninja :gah:

I'd be shocked if we didn't get something.... Might not be Zartan but that doesn't mean it won't be cool.... Speaking of cool, Snow-Job?

hoping for Snowjob...or we could see Hawk or Dusty

Snowjob would make sense for 1st quarter release with it being winter

They are meh to me, just because they aren't my favs but I will be happy to have them in the collection :lecture

Well I like Dusty more than Hawk or Snow Job.

Snow Job should be interesting with all his gear.

So SDCC will be more ninjas and troop builders? :cuckoo:

Hawk would be a major yawn

+2 on the estrogen meter for those posts.

Not gonna be scarlett. Till they have the new female body nailed down.

Gonna have to be someone who has armor or an outfit for the new Pro bodies out.

I'm beginning to think that the whole "new female body" comments, much like the muscle bodies for Indy and Toht (and the Joes who'd require them), are just detouring excuses not to make those figures. I'd really like SSC to prove me wrong, but given their compulsive obsession with polystone, it's looking more and more to be the case.

The only version of Hawk I ever had, came with one 9mm (I think), if SS
reinvented him and loaded him up, id be game

Yes I judge coolness of joes by there amounts of guns and weapons :rotfl

I hope the next bad guy is a specific character like Zartan or Destro.

I hope the next good guy is not a white guy. I'd like a little ethnic diversity in the collection considering I always felt Hasbro made a deliberate effort to do that in their original line. Growing up in the Bay Area I had a lot of friends of different races and I always thought it was cool that my friends had Joe characters to, for lack of a better term, "identify with" when playing Joes. That wasn't always there for SW or comic book characters.

Just something from my personal childhood...like I remember my friend James always had to be Roadblock. Getting a Roadblock would remind me of him.
