out of curiosity, what would blow you away on 1 clone, but be disappointed with another? aren't they all pretty much the same?

You'd have to own them to know. There's a sizeable difference, from the stand, to the body suit, to the weathering between the Lieutenant (who was much better) and the 41st (who came just afterward) that was essentially a repaint of the others with a new backplate.

i do think SW figures have been boring lately, but I think thats a big nature of the business of collecting 1 thing for so long. believe it or not by the time Vader finally arrived in hand, frankly i wasn't that excited by it.

ssc probably has realized that and thats why they are finally going to get to the unique aliens and robots.

they're probably even bored with the line.

GI Joe is something different right now, but eventually after we get several packed out figs like firefly and beach head, they too will get routine.

i think its just the nature of collecting for so long and seeing it all before (just different names).

I woudl say that about last years line, complete garbage, I think everthing they showed at SDCC ended up on GC and that was the exclusives not the regular, I guess someone's research came up short again..

Anyway the line went from all clones to the recent, Emperor which is awesome with or without pants :slap (overpriced though) to Greedo/Yoda/Hammerhead, so Id say the SW line is back on track.

As for the Joes Id never get tired of them, Firefly is sick and I ws just looking at BH and think we will end up being better than FF. If they could do 10 more Joes like that than Id be ok with them stopping the line.

Personally, I think eventually people would get bored of characters whose main attraction is tons of gear and rigs if they did more than a few of them in a row. Just like people get tired of Jedi or clones.

Eventually they'd have to move towards characters like the dreadnoks who are all about uniqueness or the females or the buffs like Roadblock.

The question is, is it better for SSC to burn people out with 1 type of figure, then move to the next type or should they completely make it random.

Lets say they did Buzzer today. A year from now Torch wouldn't seem that exciting or different. But if they did basic troops for the next year, then in 2012 did Buzzer and Torch back to back then they'd both be "new" and "different".

I think SSC does the "burn them out" with SW on purpose because they'd rather burn people out on 1 style of figure then move on rather than making every style of figure old hat right away.

Hope you get what I mean.

Yea, the armor after armor got stale. The last 2 years the only SW figures I preordered were Lando, Empy and Yoda. Might get Hammerhead.

Mix it up a little bit. I thought they should have kept a Joe then Cobra then Joe then Cobra thing going with this line.

Mixing things up is always a good thing. SW wise all I get anymore are the clones so I'm cool with those coming out one right after another so personally I'm not getting bored with them. However, you do need to mix it up.

Overall, I like how SS is working the GI Joe line but I admit I want to see some more Joe's. As far as figures with loads of gear they come with again thats something I personally can't get bored with.

That's the problem with this line. They should have alternated between Joe and Cobra. For every Joe that gets made we have 3 more Cobra releases. The Joes are vastly outnumbered, and the Cobra forces sure look a hell of a lot better too! :lol

Cobra does outnumber the Joe's thats for sure. Duke and Snake Eyes are pretty damn awesome figures though.

So what's the count now? Joes to Cobra? Joes we have now are Duke and Snake Eyes. Joes on the way are Flint and Beachhead. Cobras we have now are Firefly, Cobra Sniper, Officer, Trooper, Commander reg and SDCC, and Storm Shadow. Cobras on the way are Red Ninja. So that's 4 Joes vs 8 Cobra. Wow. SS is way behind on the Joe squad. But I like the bad guys they have done so far.

I think its more like 5 to 4, the cobra troops are essentially the same guys, and they need to pace out the Cobras as there are not many left that they will do, as I highly doubt they will ever get into the vipers and such

What the hey man, they can make a life size CP3-O and Terminator but no 1/6 GI Joe figures? What is going on? Destro is not even mention anywhere and he is one of the most important characters from the series.
