It took almost 1 year from pre-order to get Duke. My wife gave birth to our second kid faster!

exactly...and when we get another announcement...we wont see it till a year later....so its just more waiting....and waiting....eventually people's interests will move on and then you'll get end of the line!

:lol True enough.

And if you're checking her out Flo...

SS's business practices have killed all but one of their 1:6th lines, we'd be fools to think it wont happen to this one also.

1/6 just isn't their priority... SW continues to thrive because it sells itself. I honestly thought that would be the case with this line as well but SW>GI Joe, even of you don't want to admit it.

Psssssst. It's pretty common knowledge that Sideshow is phasing out of 1:6. I didn't want to believe it either, initially, but after what I've seen over the past few years, I really don't see how someone could draw any other conclusion. :huh

Exactly, why do you think that the releases havent sped up or we saw nothing at the Con? Sure we will get maybe 2 more but that will be the end it. They have had 2 plus years, to get things lined up for this line, and they still dont have a clue.

If Sideshow is phasing out of 1:6 they might as well just take their ball and go home. Hand their licenses over to Hot Toys.

But their 1:6 $tar Bore$ will continue to flourish. Anything else, no chance in hell.

Yeah, I didn't want to admit that either but it is pretty clear that 1/6th is used a gateway to polystone... For those of us who don't collect statues it's really disappointing.

Are we talking franchise or SS figures. If its figures then NO.

Franchise.... I love SW but the Joe line is far and away the best SS line.

Actually, I think the SW's line has been pretty good as of late for 1:6th anyway, and they showed a bunch of cool upcoming items that will actually get made unlike that Dusty they showed us...

That and the fact that we're seeing their 1:6 lines put "on hold" with no new 1:6 lines being announced.

There's undoubtedly been a pretty sizable increase in quality throughout the SW line. This makes me wonder if SS shifted the focus of the people who were doing such an awesome job with GI Joe over to the SW line. :dunno

The Lieutenant was the first SW figure in over a year that I got and was blown away by. Then I got the 41st and was reminded that the SW line has always been hit and miss. Yet, as cool and kickass as the Lieutenant is, Firefly was that much cooler despite the arctic camo and chick's turtleneck.

out of curiosity, what would blow you away on 1 clone, but be disappointed with another? aren't they all pretty much the same?

i do think SW figures have been boring lately, but I think thats a big nature of the business of collecting 1 thing for so long. believe it or not by the time Vader finally arrived in hand, frankly i wasn't that excited by it.

ssc probably has realized that and thats why they are finally going to get to the unique aliens and robots.

they're probably even bored with the line.

GI Joe is something different right now, but eventually after we get several packed out figs like firefly and beach head, they too will get routine.

i think its just the nature of collecting for so long and seeing it all before (just different names).
