IF Firefly is the next GI JOE RAH/COBRA figure, I wonder if it'll come with two heads (i.e. Storm Shadow)? One with the molded blacava/mask and one unmasked?

I don't think so. We never say Firefly without a mask. Ever.
Storm Shadow was unmasked a few times in the comics.

Oy, Ninja Force. Talk about taking something cool and over-doing it and beating it into the ground until it's no good anymore... :monkey4

I refuse to accept that Firefly was ever a Ninja. Sure, it's in the canon due to the latter issues of the Marvel series. But that is so contrived it makes George Lucas look like Shakespeare.

like it or not it's Hama... and therefore Canon...

it was also established much earlier in the series where they showed the picture of all the ninja masters and one had a blurred face...

The first 50 issues of the original Marvel series are awesome. The best JOE ARAH has ever been in any incarnation. However, the following 105 issues left a lot to be desired, especially the last 30 or so.

I dunno, it just doesn't bother me that much. Ninjas make great saboteurs. It's a great way to fully realize a ninjistu practitioner in a 20th/21st century setting. His filecard wasn't really that much different from Snake Eyes as far as "mystery" goes.

I look at Firefly the same way I do Snake Eyes. IMO, neither are "ninjas" by definition, but both utilize the training to further their cause/profession.

agree...

i don't understand these folks who complain about the ninja stuff but still say they love the hama comics...

the ninja stuff is a HUGE part of the hama comics...

RAH is basically about a bunch of military guys who hang out with ninjas... without ninjas it wouldn't be RAH...

Eh, I don't think the ninjas were that crucial to RAH. G.I. Joe had existed for decades without them, before RAH. They weren't really that heavily relied upon in the comics or cartoon either. Ninjas just add a bit of spice to the pot, especially with all the 80's hype and mystique. But I find it absurdly convenient and extremely campy that ALL of the "ninjitsu trained" soldiers came from the Arashikage clan. SS and SE fine, but I would've had Firefly from a different, perhaps even rival clan, to further feed a potential plot point.

actually... most of the first 115 issues are pretty awesome...

if you only count th first 50 you miss some of the most awesome stuff in the series... cobra island civil war, Trucial Abysmia war, snake eyes trilogy...
