I really hope the next Cobra is not a troop builder. Destro, Major Blood or one of the Dreadnoks.

:lecture :goodpost:

While the troop builders thus far have been awesome, and several more troops remain that I'd like to see made (Snow Serpents, EELs, Alley Vipers, Night Vipers, SAW Vipers [not so much for the original design, but for a Cobra squadron to have a machine gunner] and even a support troop like the Tele-Viper, we definitely need MORE name Cobras.

This was reinforced even more when I took and posted this pic in the Hawk thread:

Seven fantastic Joes, representing the gamut of the great RAH years. While we all have our favorites and we can argue more could have / should have been made before others (my personal list includes Scarlett, Roadblock, Low Light, Tunnel Rat, Grunt and VERSION 2 Storm Shadow), the Joe line up has been great so far.

I was going to take a similar picture of my Cobra line-up, until I realized that it consisted of Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow (though let's be honest, he's a Joe), Firefly, the Cobra Trooper, the Cobra Officer, the Cobra Sniper, three Red Ninjas, and the Cobra Ninja Viper (I didn't pick up either of the Desert variants...yet.)

Yes, the Cobra line-up will be supplemented with the release of Zartan, the Cobra Viper, the Crimson Guard, and the Black Dragon Ninja, but there are many more Cobras that need to see the light of day: Destro (hopefully next year), Major Bludd, the Baroness (stay true and follow the PF's design), Scrap Iron, and with the release of the Crimson Guard, Tomax and Xamot.

^^^ too many words but is SE really that much shorter than the rest or just set back?

Reading is fun, Ski!

Probably set back. He's on the TTA though, but with the Sideshow ankle pegs instead of the Hot Toys pegs. When I originally ported him to the TTA, he was taller than the other Joes.

Gonna have to take another picture without those drapes in the background and with Dusty standing properly.

Again, I am expecting Snow Job and Destro next year

Sideshow has already confirmed they are moving into 'environment specialist' Unique type joes

Destro will bring Gung-ho and the eventual Roadblock

I am expecting Scarlet revealed next year debuting the 1st female.

Zartan may lead to Major Bludd (Sideshow said how Zartan's Armor was done, will be done on future figures)

If they do Major Blood I hope they offer 2 head sculpts or 2 different helmets. One with the classic widows peak and one that is more modern.

No way Sideshow does it. A $400+ box set isn't gonna sell nearly as well as three individual figures people can pick up one at a time.

:lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly:

The Endor set sold like ass and the Figrin Dan set isn't doing any better. The only multi pack I see us getting would be a 2-fer if Sideshow does the twins.

Maybe no one really wants the cantina band figures. I don't think it being a 2 pack is hurting it. Boil and Waxer seemed semi-popular.

I do think 3 pack is beyond the limit, but I think packaging 2 noks together would work well though.

Really, the only two pack that makes sense is Tomax and Xamot from a business standpoint. Yes, it would be cool to have the three original Dreadnoks together, but they can be released separately.

:lecture:lecture:lecture Hence why the Ex at a measly 500 is still in stock. :exactly:

Yeah being a 2 pack is really holding back the sales of Stalker...:lol ;)

I think it has more to do with the exclusive accessory on both occassions. When the exclusive is not necessary people go to the retailers. I don't think it always speaks to the overall success of the product if a ex is still in stock.

So boring unknown Starwars characters won't really sell anyway..

Tomax/Xamot would sell

The Dreadknocks don't have to be a 3-pack...sell them individually, but at the same time (like the endor troopers, which were sold individually aswell)

Stalker =/= 2-pack :thwak.

The Palpatine 2-pack sold really well and is even getting a bit of a bump in price on the secondary market. At this pricepoint (Joes), I doubt a 3-pack of Noks would do well. Everybody would be _____ing at Sideshow to split them up and especially given the individual price is creeping up past $150 and with all the ____ they've got coming would likely leave them rotting in the warehouse.

Sent to Ask Sideshow this morning...

Now that Hawk is out, and Rock n Roll is on the way, can we expect to see more of the simpler early characters? What is your criteria for a viable release in terms of complexity, or lack thereof? Hawk seems pretty basic, but he turned out to be a great figure. What are the chances that we'll be seeing Doc, Short Fuze, Breaker, etc?
