You forgot the worst re-colored figures, Slaughter's Marauders.

Srsly. . .

Yes. Even the neon figures have better coloring than those god awful Marauders. They didn't even try.

I don't know. For some reason I like them. Certainly more than almost anything in neon.

The camo works really well on the vehicles, though admittedly they did omit the blue.

It's not like it's unrealistic anyway. The UN sports a similar nasty blue on their uniforms, helmet and beret. :monkey1 :lol

^ Good point.

Was never a TR fan. Guess people like him cause he is based on Hama. :dunno

Tunnel Rat seems to be a Hasbro favourite, and shows up in almost every new incarnation. I'm surprised he wasn't in the movie, now that I think of it... So he's kind of hard to ignore I guess.

Back in '87, he was one of the few figures I got, so I guess he's a favourite of mine as well. You could tell things were starting to change - for the worst, imo - in a big way in '87. It started in '86, but got progressively worse each subsequent year, it seemed. So it was nice having Tunnel Rat among an assortment that included Battleforce 2000, Cobra-la, Croc Master and the Pogo.

Lt Falcon was still by far my favourite figure that year though.

So would you guys pay the new base level pricing for those characters? Lady Jaye at $150? I don't think SSC is satisfied selling simpler characters for $100 anymore.

I'm really disappointed that this seems to be the case. It seems like it would be a no-brainer to mix in less complex designs with the more expensive ones. I mean, they sort of did it with the Cobra Troopers... Why can't they throw us a bone and release a few of the O13 guys with a more basic gear loadout?

Ideally we'd see a lineup like this:

Grunt - $100, includes webgear, helmet, M16, a small backpack and a couple grenades. Maybe only two sets of hands instead of twelve. ;)

Lowlight - $135-150, w/full gear loadout including large backpack, Barrett .50 cal sniper rifle, maybe another rifle, Uzi, etc...

Breaker - $100, basically the same gear as Grunt except a carbine instead of a rifle and a radio set

Roadblock - $150+ with muscle body, .50 cal MG, SAW, etc.

Short Fuze - $100, same gear as Grunt...

etc.

I just don't think anyone would complain if some of these guys had less gear and extra hands - who uses it all anyway?

Agreed, though still not the biggest Grunt fan, but for $100 I could do it.

Yes!!! Lowlight would be amazing!

A nice radio set would make Breaker an instant but.

Do a Zap & Short-Fuse 2-pack, so they can bet on shots like they did back in Marvel issue #8!

Great ideas all around. I agree that some of these figs could be simplified to make them more affordable and desirable.
