Assuming that we will be getting a number of only slightly different "greenshirt" Joes, I agree that Grunt would be the most generic, and should thus be the first release. Once the more interesting looking guys start coming out, there would be less incentive to buy the more basic looking of the basic looking guys. Of course, with the popularity of this line being what it is (even selling out that lame-o Waypoint Station thing), the choice of figures released may not matter much at all.

And I should note that in the comic, Grunt had more personality than some of the other original Joes who didn't do much to distinguish themselves (like Grand Slam or Short Fuze). Grunt had a key role in the issue where he, Hawk, and Snake Eyes infiltrated the "militia" that planned on nuking the Soviet Union or whatever it was. In the cartoon, a good chunk of those guys didn't even have speaking lines that I know of.

I never understood why they went with red over black. He'd be a beacon to anyone looking for a target. :lol

Yeah, a black version would have been cool. Probably would have preferred that myself, especially since Flash's orange and Grand Slam's red are so similar...

Made more sense than the idea that neon green and hot pink made for effective camouflage in the early 90s. You'll never see the bright orange and blue Alley Viper coming your way.

I think as far as laser troopers go Sci-Fi definitely had it worse.
Maybe their respective helmets were for protection from enemy fire more than anything else.

Silver Grand Slam rocks! :rock That's a figure I'd love to see in 1/6 complete with the JUMP pack.
Only if we get Stalker with JUMP first. . .but you just know their gonna sell the JUMP with a polystone platform for $200 or something :monkey4

Yeah, but that was '84...
