Agree, they can knock out Short Fuze, Zap, breaker, grunt ect as "variants" since they are similar.

And I don't see the Joe line going on "hold" anytime soon. I'm sure we will have a good set of core characters and then some by the time that happens.

I'd like to see the line-up evened out a little though. Right now while they're cool, there are too many Cobras.

After Beachhead and Firefly, there will be three named Joes and three named Cobras. Do three green shirts and it would balance out the three Cobra soldiers (not that the green shirts have no names, but they're comparable to Cobra's cannon fodder).

They'd have to release Grunt first. Part of the problem with the Joes is that while Cobra troops pretty much were identical peas in a pod, the Joes had unique individuals for each specialty and several individual characters who had the same specialty.

That would be a good challenge for them. Make a Grunt that's as cool as the Cobra Trooper.

I wouldn't mind some of the oldschool Joes like Clutch, Zap, Breaker, Grunt, Rock N Roll, Flash or maybe even a pre-general Hawk. But I can understand how some find them boreing compared to the newer characters who really embraced the more unique looks.

I'd take Rock n Roll over Roadblock, Zap over Bazooka, and Breaker over Mainframe. I prefer simplicity over personality. A little personality goes a long way. It's just that Grunt has none whatsoever.

Hawk's not infantry, plus he's a senior officer.

Anyway, I'd take both if Sideshow made them... I'd prefer Hawk to be the '86 version, though.
